Mainstream music and other such matters.

You know what pisses me off. All this garbage music that is coming out during present times. I know this isn't the first time you've heard this rant but seriously, all these comments I read about bands such as Paramore, Stereos, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, and such on and such forth.

You know all these bands that sing about love, and chicks, and teen angst.
Like come on.

I really don't understand why talent from previous decades cannot be found during these times? I'm pretty sure music today is all about the fame, fortune, influence, and whatever. It's not about a message anymore. It's not about being soulful, meaningful, spreading a message anymore.

I don't know if it's just me by the way, but I feel like every new band coming out that is considered mainstream, acceptable, and "cool" are all exactly the same. They have the same fashion style, hair, music, and personality.

They all sing the same too. Like to me it seems as though they have the exact same voices. But I'm just talking about all these pissy "punk" bands coming out today, don't get me started with the rap music.

And just for your information I use the term "punk" very lightly. Great bands such as The Ramones and The Clash are considered punk and we're fantastic. But these bands are just...unbearable.

But I guess you can't help it. People today don't get the chance to listen to "real" music of previous decades. (Again I use the term "real" lightly, for I don't want to be biased.) Today's music is all about having a good hairstyle, or singing about things that relate to the teens of today.

It looks as if I'm attacking the teen audience and I don't want to be biased again but naturally the mainstream music of today targets them mostly. Am I right? Yes I believe so.

Another thing that pisses me off is the shallowness of some people. I can't believe the comments I read mainstream celebrities. People such as Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattison, Zac Efron, and whatnot. I swear every comment goes exactly like this;

"OMG HE'S SOOOOOO HOT. WHY CAN'T ALL GUYS BE LIKE HIM. LOOK AT HIS HAIR, AND HIS MUSCLES, AND HIS FACE, IT'S ALL SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!111ELEVEN. I WISH THE PEOPLE I KNEW WERE AS HOT AS HIM. THEN I'D FALL IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM. HE'S GOING TO BE MY FUTURE HUSBAND SO BACK OFF CHICKS. HE'S MINE."

I understand that it's acceptable to gander about on the looks of certain people considered more famous, richer, "hotter". But what pissed me off were comments that included the sentence: "Why can't all guys be like him". Like really? Are you fo sho woman...

Of course everyone that says so to me knowledge is probably a prepubescent teenage girl who simply cannot get a man for herself and ganders about wishing that a Hercules, or a romeo will fall out from the sky and fall in love with them. Nay.

But it's natural I guess for people. It's just one of my pet peeves.

Haha but what adds on to my rant is the fact that during the MTV video awards (if any of you reading this watched it), The movie "Twilight" had claimed almost every single award. I don't feel like they deserved it, but what I resented was the fact that they had beaten Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight. Like COME ON PEOPLE. Are you that shallow?

Fuck. I'm going to stop. It's late and I wrote this out of boredom, but whatever. Feel free to oppose what I say, or agree.
