Top 10 Best Bon Jovi Songs

The Top Ten
1 Livin' on a Prayer

This is definitely the best Bon Jovi song for me and for many others. Even the kids who listen to crap these days think that it's a good song. I'm surprised that "Dead or Alive" wasn't up here in second, though. I'm 14, and I am all out against Justin Bieber and all pop/rap. The music that my friends listen to sucks. Let's just leave it at that.

I am 13 and am in love with Jon Bon Jovi (John Bongiovi Jr.), Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres. Justin Bieber, One Direction - all of them, in my opinion, suck. Today's music is really bad, and I like to live in the world of Bon Jovi, Queen, Journey, etc. I would have been great in the '80s and '90s. My hair sure is big enough!

2 It's My Life

I absolutely love this song. I always believed that Livin' on a Prayer should have been number one until I discovered this song. I personally believe it should be above Livin' on a Prayer and should take the top spot. It's an amazing song! I can't wait to watch their tour, Because We Can, in Manchester next year. Go Bon Jovi!

This ain't a song for the brokenhearted.
No silent prayer for the faith-departed.
And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd.
You're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud.

It's my life!

There seriously is no competition when a song like "It's My Life" is around. Really, one would have to say that it deserves the top spot. Move over, "Livin' On A Prayer"!

3 You Give Love a Bad Name

This is my favorite song, even now here in 2012. I love listening to it and playing it on Guitar Hero. I think this should be his top song. I never stop listening to it and probably never will. I mean, Livin' on a Prayer isn't that great. I listen to it non-stop on the bus.

One of the best rock songs ever, by far their best, needs to be #1! Here's my top 10 Jon Bon songs:

- You Give Love a Bad Name
- In These Arms
- Bad Medicine
- It's My Life
- Wanted Dead or Alive
- Livin' on a Prayer
- Lay Your Hands on Me
- Keep the Faith
- Have a Nice Day
- Bed of Roses

The most kick-ass song of all time. When you hear it, you just get that super psyched feeling rising up in your chest, and you want to shout, dance, and be awesome. I love everything by Bon Jovi, but this is definitely the best.

4 Wanted Dead or Alive

I think this is the defining Bon Jovi song. It never really proved popular in the charts, even though it was released perhaps more than any of their other songs. However, it definitely defines Bon Jovi pre-21st century. As a piece of music, the track is put together exceptionally well, and for that reason, you still discover things in it you've missed even when listening to it for the 150th time.

Great song, instantly recognizable even in the background of countless TV shows or movies. It's a rock classic with great visual imagery that inspires new guitarists. It's just unmatched.

5 Always

Come on now, guys. Livin' on a Prayer and It's My Life are great songs by Bon Jovi, but they just can't compare to this song. Always is the only song where Jon gave so much emotion. Not to mention, the solo was epic!

Through the wind, through the snow, through the driving rain,
I'd crawl all the way home, oh baby, baby, baby.
To be back in your arms, just to taste your kiss.
Just to hear you say, 'Baby, are you alright?' when I'm not there.

Additional lyrics of this song from their 1995 concert in London - pure awesomeness!

I disagree with the opinions of others that "Livin' on a Prayer" and "It's My Life" are better than this one. No, no way! Yes, I admit those two are great songs too, but "Always" is just epic. You can feel Jon giving all his energy, emotions, and soul while singing this. I love all of Bon Jovi's songs, but "Always" was the one that introduced me to this great band, and I haven't stopped loving it since that moment.

6 Bad Medicine

Come on, how on earth are "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Wanted Dead or Alive" ranked above this song? Open your ears, for crying out loud! "Bad Medicine" is so much better than "Wanted Dead or Alive." I just can't believe people's tastes. I just cannot.

What is this one doing down at #10?
Easily the best Bon Jovi song ever!
New Jersey is very underrated on this list. NY and SWW are head and shoulders above the rest of the Jovi catalog!

One of their U.S. number ones, it's definitely up there. Insanely catchy and very rocky. It's one of the best songs to showcase their brilliance.

7 Bed of Roses

Beautiful. Definitely the greatest Bon Jovi song, with the best guitar solo ever created by Richie Sambora. Awesomeness also comes from Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, and Tico Torres. Truly, this is the best song Bon Jovi has ever written.

One of the best songs I have ever heard. I wish I could sing this song with that level of passion and emotion. It's the best song. No other song I've ever heard can surpass this level of emotion. Hats off to Jovi.

Well, I cannot NOT listen to this song each night. It's an awesome love song and has to be my favorite by Bon Jovi. The tune is arresting, and the vocals are befitting.

8 Runaway

Runaway is exceptional. It was on their first album, which was way below the standards of their later albums. Yet, it's a song that holds its own and deserves to make it onto later greatest hits albums, which indeed it does. This song really sets a standard for this band and shows what they are capable of. It shows them as having the potential to be one of the best rock bands in the world, though you can tell they aren't quite there yet.

Runaway is my favorite Bon Jovi song. You have to love the keyboard and guitar solos. So much meaning to the song as well. All of their songs are good, but this one is the best.

9 Have a Nice Day

By far my favorite. The lyrics, the level of rock, and the awesomeness of the song just make this song awesome. Only real music fans appreciate songs like this. Fantastic song!

Love this song. Goddamn. If only I could yell the lyrics in my dad's face. In all honesty, this song is great for people who want to get their parents off their case.

The catchy guitar part and the incredible lyrics make this song legendary. It's very underrated and is only rivaled by Livin' on a Prayer, in my opinion.

10 I'll Be There for You

It sounds like an inverse Wild Is the Wind. Wild Is the Wind is about some guy who leaves his girlfriend or wife because he knows he's not good enough for her. I'll Be There for You is about the girlfriend or wife threatening to leave the boyfriend or husband, and his pleas and promises if she stays. Of course, the similarities end there and aren't even that strong, but still.

Oh my God! I can't believe that this wonderful song, with heart-touching lyrics and a good guitar solo, is in the 11th position. It's impossible. This song deserves a position in the top 5. I'm sure everyone will love this song, and if possible, you will sing it to your lover.

"I'll be there for you, these five words I swear to you. When you breathe, I want to be the air for you. I'll be there for you."

The Contenders
11 Dry County

This song is an underrated, beautiful epic about drought, featuring crazy great solos, a powerful singing voice, the best Bon Jovi drumming, and absolutely gorgeous piano. It's just not very popular. That's why not many people know it. But those who do should certainly vote for it.

Even though I'm a big Zeppelin fan, I must admit, if this song were released by them, it would be in my top 3 Led Zeppelin songs! I love Bon Jovi, and without this, they'd be a great band. But this is the track that takes them from great to legendary, not Livin' on a Prayer.

12 Born to Be My Baby

This song should be in the top 10! Good beginning, good lyrics, good guitar, good drums, good keyboard. It's a great song! Bon Jovi forever.

This song changed my life. Should be in the first 10.

13 Blaze of Glory

My personal favorite! Made for the awesome movie that is Young Guns. Livin' on a Prayer and You Give Love a Bad Name were way overplayed when I was a teen in the '80s, and now I can't stand hearing them.

Simply one of their best. More people should put this song on their top 10 Bon Jovi list, as it's just as good as Wanted Dead or Alive, if not better.

Are you kidding me? Ninth position? Just read the lyrics of this song. Jon Bon Jovi has sung them with such vocals that they will blow you away.

14 Keep the Faith

I would say that Keep the Faith is the best song Bon Jovi ever wrote and released. It's very different from their usual stuff, and they've never really written another song like it. But it's right up there with their very, very best. The lyrics are superb. The guitar solo may be the best one. The bass riff, the chorus, the finale - "I've been walking in the footsteps" - it's really special. It actually did very well in the UK charts compared to their others.

There are few songs done by ANYONE where the melody and the lyrics come together to create such a cohesive explosion of emotion. It gets to the very core of who we are, the struggle to maintain good versus evil. EPIC.

15 Lay Your Hands on Me

This has always been my favorite Bon Jovi song, purely because the riff and guitar work are incredible, and Jon's voice is absolutely on top form. Musically, it's really, really good, with the African-sounding drums at the beginning, the smooth synth bit later, and the gospel-sounding choir at the end. It's fabulous, and I think the only reason it was never as big a hit as the others is because it's too heavy for many.

This is 17th? Yeah, right. This is easily in the top 3. It's my personal favorite song, even better than Livin' on a Prayer. This song is an anthem.

16 Never Say Goodbye

Absolutely beautiful song that moved my heart. Should be way higher on the list.

17 No Apologies

I love most of Bon Jovi's songs, and though I wouldn't put this at number one, it should be a lot higher - top ten at least. Great song!

It's an okay song, but in retrospect, it's almost just Jon saying "No apologies" over and over.

18 In These Arms

Maybe people who hear this song never stopped to listen with an open heart. It's so amazing! Makes us feel like we're in love, crazy in love for somebody, even when we're not.

To me, the best LOVE SONG of Bon Jovi.
Love, love, love.

Powerful song! In my opinion, it's the best because it reminds me of my high school times and my first girlfriend. The rest of the songs are wonderful, however. Best regards from Madrid!

This is a masterpiece song by Bon Jovi. The guitar riffs and the vocals are amazing. Conveys a very powerful emotion!

19 Something to Believe In

This has to be up there. Apart from Keep the Faith, it's their most unique song. It's obviously an incredibly personal insight into Jon's own psychology: his longing to believe in God and in religion, but the profound struggles he has with doing so. Without a doubt, it's Jon's best vocal performance, and I think one of the best performances by any rock singer.

Musically, it's spectacular, and you'd never know you were listening to a Bon Jovi song if it weren't for Jon's distinctive voice. It is the real gem of the These Days album. Perhaps they should have named the album after this song because it sums up the band a lot better than the title they chose.

20 This Ain't a Love Song

Yet another song that sounds a lot like I'll Be There for You. I don't think it's spectacular (perhaps because it sounds like I'll Be There for You), but it's a good song, and I'm surprised that it went from somewhere around #15 or so to #42.

Best in every aspect: the lyrics, the feels, the chord progression, how Jon sings. Totally fell in love with this wonderful piece of creation. It's way underrated.

Too bad it's not a love song because this is one of the top 10 ballads of all time - by anyone.

21 My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms

The best Bon Jovi song. This and "Something to Believe In" are my favorites. This song is so emotional and deep that it just makes me cry. It gets me through every time I'm feeling down or depressed.

Who said misery loves company? I'm going to coin that as one of the stupidest phrases. But I digress. I feel a sense of empathy with Jon in this song.

This song is just filled with emotions. It will make you shed at least a tear, unless you are made of stone. It definitely deserves to be in the top 5.

22 Someday I'll Be Saturday Night

This gets me through the entire week - an amazing song. I can't stop listening to it. I feel like a Monday, but someday I'll be Saturday night.

This song is amazing. It sounds great. I can't stop listening. Vote for it now.

Cheers you up every time you're feeling low. Should at least be in the top 15.

23 We Weren't Born to Follow

The best ever Bon Jovi song, although it's really close with No Apologies. It should be rated much higher than 30th, especially since it is on their greatest hits album, whereas many of these other tracks are not.

Gives you confidence about life with its amazing lyrics. Should be higher than 24, in my opinion.

This is a great song to pump you up, along with Born to Be My Baby and Bad Medicine. It's my favorite. I can't believe it's so low on this list. I mean, it's just pure awesome.

24 Lost Highway

Lost Highway is a pretty good song. I don't know about it being inspirational (although it is that, too, apparently). Lost Highway is becoming my favorite song from the album.

Very inspiring, beautiful song. Truly amazing. It deserves to be appreciated.

25 Living in Sin

Most underrated song of Bon Jovi. He has expressed himself to the extreme in this one.
