The Top Ten

1
The Exorcist
Easily one of the best films ever crafted in any genre. It will remain a classic until the end of time for its disturbing imagery and dark atmosphere.

I think the Grudge and the Ring are highly overrated. People need to watch the real horror masterpieces of yesteryear.
After all these years it still creeps me out big time!
The best movie ever I couldn't sleep for many days and I always feel scared while sleeping a master piece
More comments about The Exorcist

2The Shining
The only horror movie that scared me, its horrible. And I've seen a lot of horror movies
Its not that its scary its just that the storyline is great and has amazing actors. I also found it kind of funny.
Here's Johnny!
Oh god both the book and the movie are scary.
More comments about The Shining

3The Grudge
To be honest, I couldn't sleep in my room by myself for years.
No joke
And this is from watching the trailer
But I was also really young at the time
Stupid but scary it kept me hanging on the edge of my seat but the original was better
This was just shockingly scary, found it hard to sleep for weeks. Not one to watch alone!
More comments about The Grudge

4The Ring
Scary isn't the word I would use.
It was eerie and demon possessed
When it was over, I felt the evil in my house!
Turned gospel music on, LOUD and read my Bible to get rid of the demon spirits!
I am very serious too!
Very atmospheric from start to finish which puts the viewer in a jumpy frame of mind for the finale. I just about pissed myself at the end...
I really LOVE this movie. Samara is a little cute bastard and Rachel is a wonderful character. I sing all the day the Samara's Song:
Round we go,
The world is spinning,
When it stops,
It just beginning.
Sun comes up,
We live and we cry,
Sun comes down
And then we all die.

5A Nightmare on Elm Street
I watched this as a kid and I can honestly say this frightened all the fright out of me. No movie has scared me ever since, none! Not a single other one on this list. Honest truth, really some might be gross, some make you jump but A Nightmare on Elm Street is the be-all and end-all
Great movie, has really stood the test of time and is as good now as it ever was. 1,2 Freddy's Coming for you.

iTragik

The birth of being afraid to fall asleep. A Nightmare on Elm Street attacks you from all directions. What ever you do... Don't fall asleep.

6Stephen King's It
I hate clowns, my friends thought we should watch it so we did, now I have the biggest phobia ever! Can't walk near open drains either...
SAW THIS AS A KID MAYBE AROUND AGE 6 AND I'm NOW MUCH OLDER AND TERRIFIED OF CLOWNS! Can't DECIDE BETWEEN "IT" AND "THE EXORCIST" BUT BOTH ARE MUST SEES AND KICK ASS!
Boy I hate clowns. And those weird yellow teeth and disgusting long fingernails just disgusted and scared the hell out of me.

7Psycho

Any movie that still unsettles me every time I hear a noise when taking a shower has to be the scariest movie ever. What an impact, even more than 40 years later.

Very scary indeed. This movie's shower scene is so famous all the way up until now, and will most likely continue to be!

As an adult, this film has creeped me out like no other. Truly terrifying when Arbogast buys it.

8Halloween
I have a reoccurring dream that I'm being chased and can't get away. The scenery changes. Sometimes I'm in a big mansion, sometimes the woods. But it's always michael myers who is chasing me. That's saying something.
I watch scary movies because they are fun; they just don't scare me. Then I watched Halloween. After the movie ended, I went to the bathroom and checked my shower... Four times!
First saw Halloween when I was 5, still my favorite horror movie, and Michael is the best horror character.

Dr Samuel Loomis: "I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... The *devil's* eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... *evil*.

9Friday the 13th
So Scary! My PArents won't let me see it again
Shag shag shag Friday the 13th was good but really scary
"this is jason and today is his birthday" awesome movie but the remake is better

10Saw
Personal all time favorite of mine, well not just the first movie, but the entire series all together. I make it a habit to marathon the entire series at least twice a year with a few of my girlfriends. Although as the movies went on, I got tired of hoffman's stupidity, but I always loved amanda's ingenuity and strength.
Great Movie.!
The way the story is set up especially in the first 3 films..!
My favorite was SAW II because the ending surprised me that I said what just happened.. Overall AWESOME Movie..!

This movies is not really one for the scare factor it's more to give you the creeps with all the gore

The Contenders

11The Omen
I like realistic horror movies that all.

lintel4

Its cool and creepy because it could happen
This is a true horror movie. The music is very scary, especially in the tricycle scene. AND COME ON PEOPLE, THE EXORCIST? I watched it with my friend and we didn't find it scary at all and it was actually funny. My best friend has seen it too and he thinks the same. The Grudge is good though.

12Jaws
I first watched this movie when I was about 12.. and I'm now 25 and iam still scared to anything bigger than a swimming pool.. those DAMN sharks...
How is Jaws not in the top ten? In 1977? 78? This movie FREAKED PEOPLE OUT, single-handedly made shark hunting PC, and also kept a nation of people out of the ocean AND LAKES for three years...

corebare32

Come on people. Of course, some movies right now are pretty thrilling, but Jaws was the movie that got millions of people out of the water. With that reaction, how can it not be in the top ten
More comments about Jaws

13Alien
Yes, I agree that this is a brilliant film, the best sci-fi film ever made... But it is in no way even the slightest bit scary. I suppose it could have been back when it first came out though...
Yeah, beside the fact that Ridley Scott's movie is a Sci-Fi masterpiece and one of the best from all time, it was scary because we didn't know what to expect from the unexpected creature called ALIEN

MatrixGuy

The overwhelming sense of dread throughout this movie has rarely been equaled. The alien is still being copied and of course, Sigourney Weaver.

14The Thing
How in the world Paranormal Activity, The Ring, It, and the Grudg went in the list? My top twenty (which looks lie the top 20 in the top 50 most scary horror movies form Boston. Com) will be this:
1. The Thing (1982)
2. Jaws
3. The Exorcist
4. The Poltergeist
5. Gojira
6. The Night of the Living Dead
7. Halloween (1978)
8. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
9. Alien
10. Black Christmas (1974)
11. The Shining
12. The Terminator
13. The Invasion of the body Snatchers (1978 remake)
14. Nightmare on Elm Street
15. Psycho
16. The Gremlins
17. Friday the 13th
18. The Phantom of the Opera
19. Silence of the lambs
20. The Fly
I gotta say the Godzilla from 1954 (japanse released version, not the american released version) is the most trryfing horror movie from Asia.

A monster, that turns dogs inside out and you don't even know its their till its about to kill you, is really creepy(and awesome at the same time

Razor79

The exorcist sucks the biggest peder and definitely does not deserve to be on here, especially not 1st. John Carpenters the thing is the greatest, it is creepy, suspenseful, exellent plot, and has the gruesomeness, heartpounding, scariest possible for a masterpiece horror. As a matter of fact most of the top ten horrors suck, it is hard to make a good horror it would seem. John Carpenters the thing, you roock!

15The Hills Have Eyes

Yes, atlast a pretty decent list! lol..

16The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Ha Ha, so we meet again, I've seen all of these Texas Chainsaw Massacre films and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is definitely the scariest of them all! Very gripping and scared my grandma to bits! Based on a true story too guys, so watch at your own risk and NEVER GOING TO TEXAS OR AMERICA AT ALL!
I saw this and it wasn't that scary but it was really gruesome... :s but an awesome film... Esp. The part when the man gets his heart ripped out.
No horror films are scary their just films the only reason why I am voting for this is because its based on a true storey

17The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
One of the best horror's out there, not to be mistaken with many remakes. Very simple concept but excellent delivery... a definite must watch.
Still cover my eyes laugh out loud
Very brutal and disturbing, will keep you up at night for sure.

18The Silence of the Lambs
This movie was perfect, honestly. It wasn't scary, but it had its moments that were... Odd. I'm a huge Hannibal The Cannibal fan, and loved all three movies. It's quite realistic as well and Jodie Foster was an amazing Clarice.
I was born in 1991 & this Epic won the Best Picture of the Year!
What Phenomenal acting by Sir. Anthony Hopkins & Jodie Foster... Undoubtedly the Scariest Movie of All-time!
I love it! And aman28 is right! The are not any things like Micheal Myers or Damien (still like The Omen though! ) Quite scary. Although I can't talk! I've only seen Psycho, The Sixth Sense, Poltergiest and The Omen.

19Shutter

a picture perfect honeymoon develops into a snapshot of terror in this BONE CHILLING SHCOKER from excutive producers of The Grudge & The Ring.

If we're talking about the Thai one, it's one of the best horrors I've watched. I'm not easily scared by films, but this one's got what it takes. It's also created in a very clever way, I love how everything at the beginning gives us the clues about what is happening and why.

20Child's Play
This movie was scary to me because I was about 5 when I saw it on T.V.. Every Halloween since I wouldn't turn it on AMC or SYFY because he scared me to much. I wouldn't even go to our town mall because he was there. In my opinion I think this is the worst and scariest movie period!
Okay well I am voting for this movie because it like RUINED me I was 8 and watched all 3 in one night... Worst idea EVER because you know the kid he goes after... Andy... YEAH that's MY NAME TOO! I was scared SO MUCH that I had to sleep with my mom... No joke I will never ever watch this movie again
This movie Ruined my childhood I watched 3 in a row when I was 5 yrs old and then was forced to play the mirror game with my cousins I slept with the lights and T. V on until I was 8

26Dawn of the Dead

Maybe the best zombie film ever - I walked downtown after watching it and shat myself several times

27Insidious
Definitely a movie to see if you like scary movies! A lot of scary movies don't make me jump... But this one made me jump several times. Just with loud noises and pop-ups. If you like scary movies. SEE INSIDIOUS
This supposed to be next to the exorcist come on this movie make me dream scary dreams for weeks and the scene where the girl that have a wedding suit cannot get out of my mind and this movie were the boy I mean the child sees his body lying I dream of my body lying on my bed but its just a dream not a nightmare... Thanks for the alarm I'm awake
This movie is just so scary. I hate Tiny Tim music now because of this. This movie is scary because of what could happen. My family does this stuff or related stuff just scary. A weird ending though. Just scary. What really scared ime was the music and the one creepy girl man thing. Great movie

28The Exorcism of Emily Rose
I've seen a lot of horror movies and The Exorcism of Emily Rose scared me the most. I still remember myself waking up at 3:00am really freaks me out!
S C A RY! ! !
Amazingness. The story behind it is awesome and it really teaches you a lesson. It was all based on a true story ek!
This should be number 1 by far the scariest movie I've ever seen should be at the top of the list.

29Amityville Horror
I watched it for the very first time with my friends and god it left me speechless! I couldn't sleep for weeks afraid of being alone
Was based on a true story

Revan

I can't believe it's based on a true story.

30Paranormal Activity
This was the hell of all scary movies. I like watching horror movies so that I can sit and laugh at the children. But this time it was reversed. I slept with my bed light on for more than two weeks. Letting my obese dog sleep between my feet that if something grabbed me his going to struggle.
I don't scare easily, but this did it for me. The Exorcist has nothing on this film!
I love "The Exorcist", "The Ring" and many other classics, but that movie was scary as hell!
More comments about Paranormal Activity

31(REC)
This list is crazy enough with Batman Begins and Zathura, how could (REC) be below films that aren't even horror?
Watch this at night by yourself or with a scary movie connoisseur, and you will see why this Spanish horror fil is the scariest horror film there is. Quarantine is the american remake of this movie. More scary than 28 days later, Exorcist, or Dawn of the dead, this zombie-movie epic will leave you shaken up and curled up under a blanket.
So... Paranormal Activity, Human Centipede and Predator made the list, but (REC), the scariest, most chilling movie ever made didn;t pass the cut? Well, that's as terrifying as (REC) itself. This will leave you crying, screaming, and it will definitely give you nightmares. Paranormal has nothing on this and never will

32Saw III
Freakiest film ever
jigsaws coming for you...
The most thrilling Saw. Full of action packed energy and scary scenes
This is definitely the scariest out of the 5, but the first is the best! Can't wait for Saw V to hit cinemas, and Saw VI next year!

nick_is_horror

33Wrong Turn
This scared me so bad, when I was watching it, I couldn't MOVE at all during the commercials, and my sister was asleep next to me! I've never been so scared of a movie in my life!

Splashstorm

Now I am even scared of ants thinking they might be canibles
Just a very good horror all of them not the scariest but very cleverly planned gore and sick minded events
More comments about Wrong Turn

34The Descent
this film has something few if no other horror films have ever managed to deliver, an intial benign suspence building up to absolute terror.
Excellent Scarefest! It builds slowly @ the start... Then plunges you into a nightmare underworld where escape seems impossible!
It made me cry. And pee my pants. What ever you do, don't watch it alone!
More comments about The Descent

35The Sixth Sense
The most intelligently made movie on spirits is the Sixth Sense, loved the concept of the movie and love to watch it alone and think about myself in the place of a spirit which still lives when it is dead... So much to think and make such a simple movie like this
I felt goosebumps on my arms when I saw this movie. This can't be one of the scariest movies, but it'll surely be on the top 10 list for the best movies. The acting, the scenario, everything was perfect!

TheDarkWolf

The twist of this horror movie is the best!
More comments about The Sixth Sense

36The Fourth Kind
This is not your average alien horror movie. It is based on actual films and tapes from a psychiatrist who is curing patients in Alaska with hypnosis, these patients all have the same dream of being watch by a white owl but only remember this part. When induced into hypnosis they go crazy until they snap out of it. The one person who remembers his dream goes crazy and kills his family and himself, the scary part is that though it is mainly actors the movie cuts to real clips. In the clip he says "they" are coming for him. This leads to the doctor being under house arrest because they blame her. But after continuing the investigation the doctor finds a clip of her screaming, then she remembers she was abducted too eventually this leads to the aliens trying to get her and taking her daughter, in real life her daughter is still missing and the only person who wished to be interview was the doctor who had become a terrified sickly person. Don't watch this movie no matter how much you might enjoy horror films because you will never sleep again.
This should be number one. After watching this I developed a phobia of white owls. This movie is based off of a real event and they show you actually footage. I was telling my friends about the movie when I first saw it and I was on the verge of tears just explaining it to them. This movie is extremely terrifying and seems to get scarrier every time I watch it. I watch the movie years ago but thinking about it makes me shake to the bone.
Real trippy and twisted movie based on true events

3728 Weeks Later

Best horror film ever made and I've watched all of the movies on "scariest films" lists, Better than 28 days later, Exorcist, Shining, Halloween, Hellraiser, the Ring, Blair Witch, any zombie movie, etc.

38Dead Silence
Here is one that is actually scary, and the ending was bomb
Oh come on! This has to be one of the scariest movies I've ever seen!
Not the scariest or bloodiest of all
But very scary and on top of that, one of the greatest, if not the greatest story for a horror movie

39House of 1,000 Corpses

This movie should be rated higher. This is the only movie I have ever seen where people ran out of the theater, and that was only half way through! Rob Zombie proved that he was indeed as twisted as his music when he brought this movie to us.

40The Human Centipede
If u think the first one is scary the second one makes it look like nothing. They are both the scariest most twisted movies I've ever seen. What makes the first one so scary is the fact that its 100 % medically accurate and it is possible n could happen. Also, the way the people in the movie are humiliated is horrible and u can't get nemore humiliated than that. These movies gave me nightmares and has kinda thrown me off since watching them recently
I borrowed some movies and saw one called the human centipede I asked my brother and my dad what it was and recieved looks of shock fear and disgust but they said its f-ed up so I watched it and...
yeah scary because I read it is all 100 medically correct and this insane crap could actually happen I think its fairly new and I would not recomend watching this mentally scarring f-ed up movie

sillywalks

Absolutely horrifying and deninitely disgusting. Made me want to puke so hard after watching it. Most mentally scarring movie of all time. It's just so effed up.
More comments about The Human Centipede

41The Woman in Black
I have watched the Omen
Trilogy, The Exorcist, The Devil, Grim Reaper, and The Woman In Black is a hell of a lot scarier than both of them together multiplied by 15.
Such a scary movie! I barely couldn't believe what I Saw. I really feel sorry for the children. On the way home, I still remembered what happen and even had a nightmare that I was one of the children but I would want to watch this movie again. It was so emotion. Decent movie YES! YES! YES!
I'm pretty freaked out by windows now.
Radcliffe put in a decent performance and the wind up toys (especially the monkeys were creepy.

42Night of the Living Dead

I could really get creeped out walking in the dark after I watched that film.

My sister made me watch this with her when I was 7 and now I can never watch it again. With the combination of the time and setting along with being black and white justs gives me chills!

When this movie came out I saw it at only 12 years old. My parents did not know what I was going to see and I looked older than 12. It scared the s*** out of me and is still creepy all these years later. It truly is awful and actually very mean because the last man standing should have lived. It was horrible and should only have been shown with a warning about its bad nature.

I watched this with my brothers friends and him we didn't get half way through the movie I am now afraid of cabins
One of the jumpiest, goriest, creepiest and most outrageous movies of all time. A fun gore fest with no breaks.

46Scream
A signature name in the Horror genre, which is why the majority of people wear Scream masks even to this day. Yes, it's not as scary as Ju-On: The Grudge or REC but imo this is the best slasher series, Halloween 2nd.

DalglishIsBack

Alongside of Halloween, this is my other all-time favorite horror series. Much like Halloween did in its time, Scream completely re-energized the horror genre which had grown stagnant and paved the way for a whole new generation of scary movies. So well-written, and with characters that are actually well-developed. When you actually feel emotion when the characters are in danger, you know you've got a good one.
My favourite scary movie EVER!!!

47Quarantine

What is this movie doing way down here it was a master piece! I loved every bit of it, the horror was placed accurately and I love the gore. Personally I think rec 1 & 2 were better, but for someone who wants to be walking in their own house as if an infected is around every corner the well this is the movie for you. This movie stands on the Paranormal Activity level of horror, but it brings it to you in a gory, fast, & distinct way, this ain't just a zombie survival horror...

~Cmdragonfire

I watched 100s of horror movies like the ring, insidious, the grudge, etc. And they are NOT scary! Quarantine and rec scaried me so much I can never watch this movie in the dark! And I think you should listen to my advice I laughed watching the ring, the grudge, insidious and etc. This is the only movie that can scare me to death!

48Chucky
Chucky is so scary because chucky is a doll that crawls under the door hole and then when chuckie is through he takes his nive and stabbs them and I couldent sleep alone and I'm only nine.
I'm 10 and I was so scared cause I have my own room then I slept in my sisters room. But my room is not scary its just sporty
THIS IS NOT SCERY ITS JUST A KILLER DOLL

49Final Destination 3
Much scarier than the exorcist and much gorier than the saw and final destination 2

Are people lost there mind? These is the best

50High Tension

Much scarier than The Exorcist.
Just watch it!

Alexandr

Loved this movie...20+ years of watching and searching for high quality horror movies, I was not disappointed.

51Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Honestly one of the most realistic and disturbing movies I have ever seen! Truly an underrated masterpiece, and one of the most terrifying pieces of cinema I have ever seen.

52Wrong Turn 2: Dead End

Such a great sequel. And it features Ken Kirzinger(Freddy vs Jason's Jason Voorhees) as "Pa"

aeromaxx777

53Phone Booth

What isn't scary about a dude trapped in a phonebooth by a sniper in the buildings who no one can see? The sniper makes him do whatever he wants, and the scariest thing is his voice. Imagine a bone-chilling, everyday American voice, but calm and evilly saying- "hello stu. " DAMN, this jerked me for ages. I certainly ain't been in any phone booths for a while, and I intend to keep it that way, even if the nearest one is next to my best friends house!

Mushroom99

54House of Wax
This is the only Paris Hilton movie I like! Anywayz the movie has a great story and is really scary because just the thought of making wax dummies out of live humans scares the hell out of me! The ending was also superb
Ratulkhan, Bangladesh
This movie scared the hell out of me. Imagine a town so far away that it can't even be tracked by GPS. And that town is headed by two psychopathic brothers who kill people just to make wax figures out of them to show them in a lonely museum. It's very, very scary!
I love this movie its so scary and good. It scared me the first time I watched it but now, not so much. Paris Hilton was great in this movie but in other movies she plays in are Crap.

First and last scary movie I saw as kid... still know what happens in front of the mirror, never been more scared after that in my life!

terrified me when i was a kid!

56Freddy vs. Jason
Ok it maybe scary I did not watch it but two scary monsters makes the movie even more scarier than ever.

57Cannibal Holocaust

58The Grudge 2

What was once trapped.
Will now be unleashed.

59Suspiria

This is the masterpiece of scaryness. The best horror soundtrack ever will keep you frozen stiff! This is the second scariest film after The Exorcist. Unique suspense, perfect soundtrack, EXCELLENT HORROR. Idiots voted for king kong, wrong turn and... Juno?!? What?!

60Ringu

61Pet Sematary

... This movie/book will always be scarier than anything else. Why? Well, for only one reason: PASCOW.

I saw this as a kid, and it scared the hell out of me. I haven't seen it since, but probably because I'm more scared of disappointment than I am of getting scared again (or am I just trying to make myself believe that? )

It's easy to see through "scary" movies to the jump-scares and horror cliches. But this story is truly horrifying. It deals with emotional devastation in a tense, spooky, supernatural setting. What is lost in the end is much more than the lives of shallow characters. This is scary.

62Voices

6330 Days of Night

With my opinion this is the outta this world vampire movie ever made!

64The Devil's Rejects

65Seven

This movie is scary. John Doe gives me nightmares. And who can forget the "What's in the box"!

Wasn't scary, but nasty as hell. - The reason for my vote is simply because it's brilliant. Couldn't agree more with a murder.

66An American Werewolf In London

67Saw: The Final Chapter

68Thirteen Ghosts
This movie scared the hell out of me when I was a child. And it was my favorite until now because all of the ghosts have a shockingly deep dark story about their past

monicaaudrey

In this movie I REALLY hated the Jackal. Personally, I think that he was the scariest part of that whole movie. It wasn't just a gory movie it was scary.. And gave me nightmares.
one of the best friggin movies I have ever seen ever man

69Antichrist

70Poltergeist

This movie shattered my youth. It wasn't about gore; it was about scary psychological manipulation. The real-life trail of hauntings, curses and deaths that followed everyone who worked on the film helps, too.

71The Uninvited

72Hostel

73Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

74Cube

Are you kidding me? This is the scariest film of the 90s! And the most scariest Canadian film ever! Scream was one of the best of the 90s but not the greatest of the 1990s. The begginning is really scary! Cube4Ever!

75I Am Legend
Ok, this IS NOT a scary film... But I'm voting for it because its such an AWESOME film! I love Will Smith!
Disregard every movie you see ranked higher than this one! They may be scary, but "I Am Legend" has one scene especially, that is PURE TERROR: 5 minutes of NO SOUNDTRACK, PITCH BLACK DARKNESS, THE TENTION OF SUSPENSE, and the very first HORRIFYING VIEW OF THE MUTANTS... While searching for a dog in a dirty building... First-time viewers may be scarred...
Absolutely scary, especially when he meets the Infected for the first time, its a great film!

. . . because it's real. Could happen to every one.
It's scarier than every fantasy monster could ever be.

77Martyrs

If you've seen it you're still disturbed - that's the truth - this movie will scar your psyche for life

78Final Destination 5

79Devil

80The Ring Two

81Predator
It is one of my all time favorite movies and you've got to agree that a bunch of soldiers trapped in the jungle with a big 8-foot tall alien trying to kill them one by one with all these gadgets. [you can tell that Arnold was afraid too]
The movie scared the hell out of me

82Grave Encounters
You r kidding right? Grave encounters at 72? The tape was one hell of a scary ride... It may not be #1 but certainly deserves a spot in top 10
This really should be higher in the ranking - its so under rated - this has got to be one of the best films in the "moc-umentry" classification. Really well acted, good story line and well made - and grave encounters 2, was well worth waiting for.
Best movie ever! I had no clue what would happen next. The sequel is just as good, if not better! I recommend people to watch this movie with friends or girlfriends...

84The Howling

85Gothika

86Audition

87Aliens

A woman whose lsot her daughter struggles to save a child alone from terrible monsters who massacre marines. A terrifying setting and characters you truly care about.

88Alien Resurrection
The best alien movie ever S. Weaver looks extra ugly

MissAngel

89Vacancy

best movie ever. this should be in top 5 movie. I saw this movie when I was 2006th year old now after three years I saw this movie too this is my favourite movie ever and ever. mm

Amazing Movie!
One of my all time favorite.
This movie is done very well and if you get yourself into it... It is very horrifying!

This one has to be higher on the list!

90Cape Fear

91Hellraiser
Its frikken awesome yet disgusting at the same time

92Don't Look Under the Bed

All these other ones are scary adult films, but I this one was, no joke, the genuine reason why I asked my parents to get me a nightlight to sleep with

This movie was so scary I had to keep the T.V. on at night so I could fall asleep!
I really didn't want to watch this but my brother made me!

Saw this when I was a kid and it freaked the hell outta me, I couldn't sleep alone in my room for weeks.

93Salo

94A Serbian Film
The fact that this movie isn't rated number one is simply an indication of the fact that so few people have ever seen it. Don't watch it. That's my best advice. I'll never be the same again after having watched something so horrifically disturbing.

95The Others
The best ever. I didn't figure "it out" until her husband came home for a visit. Still, the ending surprised me.
This is the scariest or rather creepiest movie ever majority of these films aren't even scary but this really is I couldn't walk past open doors for ages after I first watched it (i was 7 though)

96Orphan
This movie is like so creepy! Esther is actually a 32 year old woman who has this rare dwarfism that makes her appear to be a 9 year old.
She is a 32 yr old woman in a childs body! Freaky when she tries to seduce the father
Scared me couldn't go to the backroom all by myself IF you love scary movie you should watch it if your not a fan than don't prefered 14 and older

99The Messengers

This is the most scary movie I've watched. Specially the things in the basement. I would recommend to watch this with friends its really fun. At least give the trailer a shot and trust me you wont be disappointed :)

OK... Everyone this is not a scary movie its just that I love Kristen Stewart. The concept was scary though, I love this film. If you want a real scary movie you should see Urban Legends Bloody Mary! It creeped the heck out of me, I couldn't sleep alone for months! The messengers is good though
