The Top Ten

1
Cheerleading

Every single time we(cheerleaders) through a girl in the air everyone of us are taking a risk of getting killed! One wrong move could make her land on our heads and break our necks! One tiny mistake in cheerleading can leave many injuries! The reason it's so dangerous is because it's 5 different girls working together to accomplish one task and when one thing goes wrong all of them are at risk!

I agree I'm a cheerleader and have you seen cheer forse they won nationals 5 years and they do some really dangerous stuff like doing a flip from one stunt to another

Everyone says cheerleading is not a sport but it is! It's very dangerous a lot of people have gotten injured on my team and were not even in high school yet!

2Horseback Riding

There are so many fatal riding accidents that it is near impossible to keep count. Working around on with any living, thinking animal immediately presents obvious risks. Jade South, Jessica Forsyth and Emma Jonathan are just some names of promising young riders who have lost their lives doing the thing they loved most in the last 3 years. The first two names were girls of 14 years.

The first time I was bucked off I fractured my arm, sprained my neck, pulled a muscle in my leg, and dislocated my knee. When my cousin was a toddler she walked behind a horse and got kicked so hard she flew ten feet, became cross-eyed and since she hit a fence, she became paralyzed from the neck down. So yeah, horseback riding is VERY dangerous on and off the horse...

TV taught me that horses are incredibly dangerous. Do ya'll remember the episode of Full House when Michelle fell off a horse and lost her memory?

3Lacrosse

THIS IS DANGEROUS! I'm a goalie and I'm putting my life on the line when I step in the cage.

Lacrosse should be #1. How is cheerleading very dangerous I mean all you do is move your hands and do hand stands and crap. In lacrosse you have a rubber ball flying at you that is moving anywhere from 90mph-111mph. Also don't make a guy mad in lacrosse cause they have huge metal sticks that can hurt if you make people mad. Who would want a huge metal stick and huge guys smoking then shooting a ball at you. Sorry cheerleading but you deserve #100.

Every lacrosse game, your nearly guaranteed to have at least one serious injury. In our last game, we had to stop 12 seconds early when one of the kids on the other team got sandwiched... Hard. Concussion. Dislocated shoulder. The whole shebang. We called in the ambulance and the kid didn't remember half of it the next day. The best part: it was a completely legal hit. Today. Our goalie got knocked unconscious by a hit. A guy got hit in the throat with a cross check (have you ever been hit in the throat by a guy sprinting at you? All we could do watch watch him squirm on the ground, struggling for air. ), and one of the guys on the other team took a shot on goal and hit our teammate straight in the head. That knocked him out for a little bit there too.

4Gymnastics

Gymnast... almost 11 years... seen kids do double backs off beam and land on their heads and not be able to move. A girl was doing full twisting yurchenkos into the foam pit and broke both bones in her shin. I pulled in on double backs on bars and hit my feet (some serious soft tissue damage) and my head.

DANGEROUS AND PAINFUL ALL THE TIME

I was in gymnastics for 9 years and had many minor injuries, but also had some serious ones. Such a difficult sport, and super dangerous. When I was 14, I fractured my wrist so badly that they thought they were going to have to amputate it from my elbow down. Luckily, I managed to go through 3 emergency surgeries and come out of my 4 day hospital stay with my arm! I know a lady who had to have both knee caps replaced, due to all the damage from gymnastics over the years. I have weak wrists and knees now, but I'd do it all over again if I could! I recommend this sport for males and females. It teaches you discipline, balance, flexibility, coordination, team work, etc. It is demanding, but well worth it.

I am a gymnast and I think that gymnastics is the most dangerous sport I am only nine and I have had 6 broken arms 14 broken toes and lot more things that have ether broken or severely injured. My friend is a level 10 and her name is Lexus Demers and she is on youtube and, if a cheerleader is reading this go on youtube and look up Lexus Demers and lets see if you can do that.

5Soccer

Soccer is incredibly dangerous. If you compare the injuries in soccer to those of other sports, it defiantly deserves to be higher on this list. The number of severe injuries to those of other sports are very high. What makes it even more dangerous is that even if you are hurt, the limited number of substitutions sometimes means one has to continue playing, worsening small injuries to major ones. Soccer is a full contact sport, where they WEAR NO PADS OR PROTECTIVE GEAR except for shin guards, which only help against bruises. In addition, THEY WEAR CLEATS. It may not be as dangerous as bull riding, cheerleading, or horseback riding but it should defiantly be higher than 6. Everyone is extremely physical. People get knocked out frequently (jamie charraiger) or have severe, severe leg breaks (aaron ramsey). Add these injuries to the demand of playing very frequently with, like I said, limited subs and it is very very dangerous.

I have seen more injuries in soccer than just about any other sport. If the injury is not caused by contact, it is caused by an ankle roll (more likely with cleats because your foot can not slide).

I have seen plenty of concussions (two people going up for a header, anyone? ) and broken bones in soccer.. But perhaps the most debilitating injuries are the frequent knee injuries which can put someone out of commission for life.

I'm a keeper and I get kicked in the face all the time. Also girls play rough on the feild and will purpossly trip and knock you down. Getting stepped on by cleates is not fun. There is girls out from being hurt every game and a lot of concussions.

6Bull Riding

Bull riding is a amazing sport. Also a dangerous. You could break a lot of bones and be in bed for a long time. Bull rider's are risking their lives for everyone that thinks it's a fun sport it's not. What if when you fall down the bull steps on your guts hm, that would be kind of pain full. This list is kind of messed up

For the bullrider this has got to be the toughest 8 seconds to endure, if you're successful, particularly in the short round with the bulls like Bushwacker, Bones, or Voodoo Child. But there is little danger to the audience as in other sports such as baseball. Baseball, to me, has the highest potential for serious injury... Not only to a batter, infielder or pitcher, but to spectators in the stands. If it isn't a super fast ball coming at you, it could be a splintered bat!

bull riding is definatly the most dangerous sport....these bulls are mad and crazy and could kill you. People have to have guts to get on them

More comments about Bull Riding
7Football

Football is one of the toughest sports. Try playing a game with a broken hand or finger. One guy cut his finger off just to play.

That's when I was kinda tipsy and I fell on my head and I hurt myself and you can hurt or break your nose, jaw, hand, fingers, wrist, leg, acl and mcl

I believe football is a lot more dangerous than gymnastics! I have heard about so many paralysis engeries! It should be right after horseback riding and cheer! I play football but I believe cheerleading is harder!

8Hockey

+30Hockey is should definitely be in the top 5 or at least ahead of soccer. You are constantly getting hit into the boards which can lead to broken bones, concussions and more. I broke my arm twice from a slash, lost 2 teeth getting high sticked, and KO some guy in a fight

+18aight I've been playing hockey 3 years (now midget) each year was to hospital at least once, broken bone, fracture, sprains, I'm lucky! coulda had some bad conusions, throat slit by a blade, its rough and some people go out to hurt people, on ice, its hard look what happend just the other week habs vs bruins, chara, that happens more than that, that was just serious, never know what can happen, horseback is dangerous too I do it, not as dangerous, but soccer? come on seriously? put some hockey players on the ice with just shin pads you see what happens then! weve broke the glass 3 times this year with pucks, a midget team! theyre hard rubber and go fast.. maybe not number 1, but past soccer? I think so

+18People weighing 250 lbs, skating at over 30 mph while running into each other, with a 6 oz. Frozen object being fired around the ice at speeds of up to 110 mph. What else is there to say.

9Motocross

Definitely the most dangerous. And to all you people that think that cheerleading is the most dangerous, tell me this. Is falling in cheerleading from about 10-15 feet or falling from up to 50 feet going 35 or 40 mph more dangerous? You decide..

Anyone who's played any other sport knows that moto-cross is by far very very hard

Hah I can't believe motocross is number 9, this is mostly due to the average persons lack of knowledge of the sport and how extremely dangerous it is, there isn't just a possibility of getting hurt but it is guaranteed that at some point you will be injured..

More comments about Motocross
10Rugby League

Rugby league? Yeah tough game. But how on earth is Soccer, American football and rugby league all higher than rugby union. Rugby union is the toughest game in the world and is the reason we have ball off the ground contact sports, the first and best to date... World Cup not far away now go the Wallabies!

How is football higher on the list, when rugby is the same sport, just without the padding? Rugby players in pads would kill football players.

Rugby requires no padding and football is based off of it, if boys say football is the most dangerous sport they are wrong

The Contenders

11Wrestling

Come on you got 5 point throw where most people goals are to drop you on your head from 5+ feet with them helping to get you hit the mat harder

Seriously Cheerleading is not the most dangerous In wrestling I go out on that mat with fear that I wont come back but I do it I have a bad back I broke my nose didn't know it and kept wrestling I wrenched my knee bite through my lip almost broke my arm in one match and I have only wrestled for nine years

Wrestling is VERY dangerous and I know why.. When I was fourteen I started wrestling and at first I felt like I could do it but then my enemy attacked me so angrily I broke my two legs my nose and one of my teeth came out. So from now on I get beaten up a lot and I always injur SOMETHING in my body and yeah cheerleading is dangerous but not dangerous enough to come TOP. The whole point in wrestling is HURTING somebody! So you get beaten up hurt or injurec much more in wrestling.

12Boxing

I GOT A THREE INCH SCAR ON MY FACE BECAUSE OF BOXING BUT I LOVE IT

An average of 10 people per year have died from professional boxing matches so far this decade. Seems pretty dangerous to me.

I'm nine boxing is scary! When the match started he ran right at and started to clobber my lung in the hospital bed
Also my kidneys are pulverized

13Rugby

It has no pads if your hit you can break around 3 to 5 ribs or more!

This sport is way more Dangerous than Rugby League & Soccer

keegan11

I come from South Africa. Rugby here is way more tough then in Europe and the USA. It's nothing like NFL, because its meant for men to play. Rugby is a much more quick paced and rough and there are no pads needed because we ain't girls.

14Parkour

Definitely the most dangerous, in cheerleading do you climb up the Eiffel Tower without a harness or any equipment?! Jeez even Netball is more dangerous than cheerleading

What! Are You kidding me? Has Anyone ever actually seen Parkour? Look up the 'Worlds Biggest Parkour jump', and its across two buildings 20 stories high! Come on Parkour brothers and sisters, VOTE!

Ever tried jumping two buildings with nothing underneath? How about climbing a building using nothing but grit and no climbing rope? Definitely more dangerous than cheerleading.

More comments about Parkour
15Mountaineering

horse ridng is dangerous when the horse is crazy, runs, flips you over, cheerleading is dangerous when u are thrown up to 10ft and carry lots of people on your shoulders, but this one needs lots of oxygen and u got tired avalanches and frostbites awaits you.

ronluna

Can you climb a huge mountain like mt. everest easily? It takes long days and nights, survival kits and gadgets to do that risky sport.

ronluna

climb a snowy and very high mountain and you will see, I'm just saying the truth here, falling is 100 percent guaranteed that you will not survive frostbites and avalanches

ronluna

16Base Jumping

With base jumping, you're jumping of a 500-800 ft structure (sometimes even lower) but with cheerleading you're jumping off your best friend's shoulders? That doesn't really add up.

sure they have a parachute but they don't always work like when they get caught in the object you are jumping from, plus if you live it usually isn't legal so have fun in jail

My friend jeff died from base jumping so I think its a bit more dangerous than hockey, football etc.

More comments about Base Jumping
17Skateboarding

Most dangerous in my opinion. Your on a peice of wood with sandpaper and wheels. Doing tricks off ledges sometimes higher then 15 feet. In dangerous places. Such as a 20 stair that leads to a street. And that's thought of a kinda dangerous situation in skating..

My neighbor dropped in and chipped 2 teeth an knocked one whole tooth out and another one dislocated his leg.

Okay, skateboarding while it is a dangerous sport and people can be hurt from it. Most people who aren't skateboarders or interested in it are completely ignorant about it. Professions do what they think they can do. Yes look Nitro Circus they jumped off the Grand Canyon and "had enough time to use his parachute". Even if you DO fall off the stairs because you don't know what you are doing you won't die like some people have commented. A cut or two? Or maybe even a slight chance of a sprained list sure but dying? That is one of the stupidest things I've ever read, this isn't all that dangerous, the worst is breaking a bone, Football and a ton of other sports are a lot more dangerous than this.

More comments about Skateboarding
18Mixed Martial Arts

UFC fighter are bad asses they could break bone with one punch most dangerous in my book

MMA is a sport that no normal person can handle. Jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and etc, with little to no protective gear. Concussions and bone breakage is a must in this sport. Death at an early age is almost impossible to escape.

MMA should have been number 1, brutality of fights is a much proof...

More comments about Mixed Martial Arts
19Racing

+5there are many deaths from this sport. 20 survival chance btw
mountain climbing should also included in this list

ronluna

+5Here's a list of the greats who died racing: Senna, Peterson, Vukovich, Vogler, Fireball Roberts, Clark... The list unfortunately goes on. No other sport has that many deaths.

+4pavement is painful from any angle you might hit it, especially at the speeds these guys are going

20Water Polo

Water polo is harder than football.
it involves constant swimming and treading
you have to propel half your body out of the water
and you get pummeled underneath the water, since the ref can't see and all low blows are legal

Honestly,
you haven't played such a demanding sport
until you have played water polo.
you sit and tread water for four eight minute quarters.
I'd like to see you guys try
to get half your body out of the water,
by just using you legs.
and... So much goes on under the water.
hitting, pinching, grabbing, kicking, twisting of the wrists and suit.
I mean it really sucks.
people don't think its that bad.
because I bet half of you don't even know what it is.
like if all you football players complain about how hard you work,
I wanna see you last one water polo game let alone a practice.

finally someone who knows what I'm on about

i did a speach on this and at the end I had convinced my entire class and at that moment I had not been aware of the fact that people have died from the injuries they have sustained in water polo

not to mention the elbowing in the neck you recieve and then a kick to the gut not only can you not breath your winded too trust me had it done it's really really not great I passed out!

21Dance

+3dance is dangerous because if you are not trained properly or you aren't strong you can get seriously injured. there are so many opportunities to get hurt in basically everything you do!

+3Dance is very very very dangerous constantly have pulled muscles and I get heart so much it isn't even funny people underestimate dance but dance is a true sport dancing is like signing a contract to get injured

+1Dancing. Is a sport and can be very very dangerous if you do ACRO then you know what I mean acro dancers are more flexible then cheerleaders because do you see chearleaders DO chest stands on have their feet far over your head on the floor or a back bend but holding or to their ankles in a back role no also if you do POINTE you're standing on your tippy toes with out help and turning and all kinds of stuff even though it some times hurts really bad! And sometimes even wake up with blisters on your toes well it really hurts and it takes a lot of work! And you can break any thing also DANCERS st competitions do BACK TUCKS on HARD WOOD FLOOR even aerials on HARD WOOD FLOOR yeah and for all you cheerleaders it hurts a lot more falling on hard wood floor than mats...

22Figure Skating

+3I think this should be higher then number 26. Like it is a lot more dangerous then some of those other sports. Right before Halloween this year I broke my ankle and shattered my tibia and fibia. I still might have to go get surgery. And this was something as simple as cross overs at a fast speed. I've done cheerleading and dance and I think figure skating is a lot more dangerous. My younger sister also figure skates and she popped out her knee cap.

+3I think figureskating should be #2, because there are sharp edges that if dancing with a partner, could be a death sentence if used improper, we do triple rotational jumps, spins, etc.

+1figure skating is so dangerous! I fell on my doulbe sal(a freak accident because the jump was consistant) and I broke 2 bones in my ankle, fractured one, and tore every single ligament and tendon in my leg, ankle, adn foot. also if you fall on your layback, you could seriously injure your head. and if youfall on a double jump, axle, triple or quad you could get so seriously hurt. my friend fell on her triple and cu rher knee and had to get stickes. figre skating os so dangerous but so FUN! :) :)

23Jai alai

Some players die when the ball hits them.

Yes... Jai alai. I almost died playing this. I got hit square in the sternum. Flat. I saw a guy die once. Got hit in the mouth. Hard.

24Baseball

People have been hit in the head by a ball that was hit and died of severe brain injuries. This should definitely be in the top 10.

Baseball should be the number one because all you have to defend yourself from a ball coming at you at about 60 mph is a small 12 inch glove! You have to depend on quick reaction time to maybe save yourself.

Baseball can get very rough. Even In minor league

More comments about Baseball
25Basketball

I went all football and baseball season without getting hurt. Now I have a broken foot because of basketball.

Look at the statistics for concussions and knee injuries (ACL-tears), especially among high school girls!

Basket ball is supper dangerous! I broke my thumb and fractured my arm, broke my foo and my team mate broke her nose! Crazy right!

More comments about Basketball
26Pole Vault

Only thing scarier than watching someone snap a pole, being on the pole when it snaps... Were more dangerous than 23rd

This has to be in the top ten falling from 15 feet or higher useing just a pole come on. If you miss the pitt from that high while you upside down your risking breaking you neck.

Pole vault has the highest death to participant ratio of any sport in the past 20 years, a single mistake could be fatal! How are basketball and baseball above a sport where the tiniest miscalculation can result in a concussion, or a broken bone, or worse?

27Skiing

+5I agree I snowboard and have multiple I greed many to my neck and head and Arm. My neck is messes up from landing on my head so many times. Fishing what? I wanna see a fisher land on a hard cold metal rail on your arm or leg I have slide of railed partly and not gone of all the way off and continued to grind on the rail on my calf. And basketball? I wanna see you see you try not to run into a tree @ 30 -70 mhp tree riding. Because if you run into a tree your dead.

+4Okay, don't try to tell me "oh I ski, or I snowboard" no, you've done it before. Your not a true skier/ snowboarding and you will NOT understand the dangers of it if your doing it solely on a social level. Its a lifestyle, and a dangerous one. How many other sports have first aid emergency stations at their field, court, or wherever you compete. I understand that cheerleading is hard, but guess what... The hard part about it is the flips. The GYMNASTICS part of it. So I'm really sick of hearing it from cheerleaders. Guess what, we do flips... Of jumps. With our feet stuck in boots and bindings attached to our board or skis. Which we have to land in piles of snow and sometimes ice. More injuries are acquired from these sports than any other. All you have is you, and no one to help you. You buy a board or skis, right on the box or anything for the bindings or whatever. "skiing/ snowboarding is a dangerous sport that can result in serious injury and even death" were hardcore. Cheerleaders, sorry your not. Football players, look at all the padding you have. And the other sports also have a low risk injury level as in football. Were our own support while skiing. Were flying down a mountain at high speeds, maneuvering around people who don't understand it IS a sport and go only to socialize. Please, if your gonna treat it like that don't even try it and risk our safety and yours. Try the terrain park. Its dangerous... All the hard equipment you can easily slip on and break something. Not to mention the freezing weather at risk for hypothermia. Anyone care to argue?

+2This has got to be one of the most dangerous sports out there. Think about this - you're on top of a mountain with an elevation of about 11,000 feet above sea level, you're about 20 feet away from a 90 foot drop you're about to nail. The only thing that could possibly keep your legs, back, neck, or spinal cord from snapping is a deep layer of powder and a slight downward slope at the bottom of the cliff. Plus, to add a little more danger, you've decided you're going to flip off of the cliff. Just a little bit of risk, eh?

More comments about Skiing
28Fishing

Yes and the drinking adds another element of danger. I have heard many stories of fishermen slipping and hitting their heads, or worse falling asleep and being taken away by the incoming tide.

Actually, looking at statistics, I believe this is the most dangerous sport. The others might be rough and tumble, but add the water factor, and you have a whole new dimension of danger.

Some people get hooks in them and even worse at times!

29Surfing

ok I will always think cheerleading is dangerous but so is surfing my dad was surfing yesterday and cut his foot open and had to have 8 stiches in his foot(it almost hit his artery and could have killed him) he had to have 12 staples in his head because one of the fins on the board got stuck in his head (long story) he also broke his neck (when he wuz 16) and many more injuries and siriously I can't belive golf is on the thingy and the coments are so stupid like the one that says your back could give out... that has NOTHING to do with golfing it could happen anytime and yea I mean you could get hit in the head with a golf ball but you would have to be pretty retarded to swing you club the wrong way and aim the ball at your head in cheer you have to throw a 100lb girl in the air and risk your life for her because if she falls from that hight SHE could die my friend had to be rushed to the hospital because her stunt group droped her and she had to have an emergency surgery on her arm and 3 pins in it the same thing happened to me xcept I was doing a standing back tuck and broke my finger and I only had two pins my other friend had the same thing on her arm but like me only two pins and this other girl I know had t have titanium screws in her finger and my coach brock her back at the age of 13 my other caoch had to have metal plates put in her foot and some girl broke her ribbs and my friend broke her one foot 3 times this girl had to have almost 12 surgeries because her arms are completley ruined and another girl on my team recently broke her ankle so if your woried about your back giving out then you are probalble just a little whiney baby because my sister spraind her neack and my coach didn't care that she was hurt so he told her to suck it up and keep going and so after practice we took her to urgent care and they told us it wuz fractured and if he didn't make her keep going it would only be sprained

Well I surf and I have got lots of cuts from the shallow reef, some people have become a quadriplegic lots of people die from surfing I think it should be in the top ten

Surfing is with out a doubt one of the top 5 most dangerous sports. More people die or smash their heads on reefs and get hurt way more than cheerleading or lacrosse or even football. Soccer without a doubt shouldn't be in the top 10. I play soccer for my school and trust me, surfing is extremely more dangerous.

30FreeStyle BMX

+8Ok I can understand skateboarding and motocross being more dangerous but fishing? You gotta be kidding me.. BMX requires a lot of skill and is very risk taking. I've landed head first PLENTY of times off the quarter and ended up with a concussion. The worst EVER was when I ended up in a 3 week coma. Go on YouTube and look at what professionals do and you tell me that's not as dangerous as fishing

Sportkid123

+1HAHAH! It's Stephen Murray.. I wouldn't go as to say skateboarding and BMX are technically as dangerous as a lot of sports out there. I mean you get beat up and break bones and like many riders, "Usually trail riders", have been paralyzed or knocked into a coma.. Etc.. I would agree fishing is more dangerous. Look up some of the fish out there in the rivers and Oceans.

+1Are you kidding me? freestlye Bmx should be in the top 10! One of the best riders named stephen Murray got PARALYZED when he crashed trying to do a double backflip off the dirt ramps

31Sky Diving

+2if the parachute doesn,t open then your pretty much dead

-1Skydiving is leaping from a plane at 5,000 ft and cheerleading is jumping off shoulders? I don't think this is adding up very well...

32Road Cycling

A criterium, a style of Road Racing going around a square city block is much more dangerous than dance. You have over 20 people at minimum moving around at 25 MPH and you are close enough to the other racers that you can touch them. If one person puts the brakes on to hard, the whole group is on the concrete. How is that less dangerous than dance?

Have you ever had a car try to run you over? Then giant trucks fly past you just a few feet beside you. Tons of steel versus a rider? Cheerleading is that dangerous?

33Cave Diving

In the Pitch Black, with no air and in deep sea pressure, there are a trillion things that can go wrong. Only professionals should even dare dreaming about.

You are under water in a dark cave your equipment could fail, you could get lost, dying is a possibility! Also watch for hungry cave creatures!

I know people who've died from doing this, and I do it myself. One mistake and you can be permanently injured or even worse, dead. There is no backup plan if you panic, only a guideline that you could easily lose sight of if you can't concentrate. For those who are saying that cheerleading is dangerous, you don't know what real danger is until a piece of vital equipment fails underwater and there is no time to make an ascent.

louiethefly

35Speed Skiing

160 mph and no metal to protect you like in a car!

Trees, bears... All at 150 mph. Skiing is already enough for hurting yourself! I knew someone who got injured very badly during speed skiing, and had to go to the hospital.

36Competitive Eating

-1Have you ever gotten constipated from eating too much? I have! This should be number one! I can't even believe that no one thinks it is more dangerous than cheerleading. You could so easily die competitively eating. I bet it happens all the time and is just covered up.

-5YOU COULD ACCEDENTLY EAT POISON OR SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE ALLERGIC TOO!
You must watch food attack. It is about people who got into serious trouble with food. Like someone who ate junk food and coudnt breath.

37Taekwondo

tkd is the most dangerous sports ever I have been in ata for many year so far I have a scar from my sholder down from a kama mess up I broke my toe from a bo staff I lost a tooth from nunchuku and whale sparring I huge neck bruise and my instructer got he head gear kicked off and got a concuction

I am a taekwondo junior black belt. I have hurt my leg quite a lot of times and had gone to see the doctor thrice. I have never regretted joining taekwondo because I like it even if it is a dangerous sport. You can easily sprain or twist your leg. Sometimes you can get hit at your head and thigh. I have injured by mouth. Sprained my hand once. It still continues to hurt at times even though I hurt it 5 months ago.

yes this might be dangerous because when you get a critical hit in the head you will be knocked out even if you where head gear. I have seen that and have experienced that

38Paintball

PB for the win is where its at. GO Paintball! I love paintball, yet its dangerous due to the high FPS of the guns, and stuff like that.

The tech on the guns (ex, three burst and the PSI on the air tank turned up) can seriously injure someone, leaving either broken skin or a bruise, raises irritated area of skin if not protected and or the gun not chrono'd.

Some People kill each other when they play without a mask.

39Free Climbing

Free climbing(rock climbing) can get some one extremely injured or even maybe killed! If you are on belay and something goes wrong and the person accidentally drops you... I went on a few other websites and they said rock climbing was either number 3-5... That doesn't even mention when some one's free solo climbing! That's when you climb with no rope what so ever!... I think this website is completely under estimating free climbing on so many levels

These idiots are trying to die! That's why they picked this sport! Lets face it, going down has to be better!

40Dodgeball

At last, a properly dangerous sport. Dodge duck dip dive and dodge, they're the only tips I can offer to plucky young dodgers.

This is very dangerous because some times the ball comes hard and hits you in the face and it hurts

41Free Diving

The New World Record is 702 feet/214 meters. The world deepest freedive ever!!! (June 14th 2007)

42Supercross

motorcycles and backflips can be a dangerous combo

Supercross is race you idiots freestyle motocross is when you do tricks any. Dont call it something you don't even know

I'm really not sure how in earth SX is so far down. But then again, most people who don't ride think it's Oh So Easy to do. SX and MX aren't exactly pansy sports. Oh and as a female in the sport of MX and SX it really ticks me off to see Cheerleading as #1!

43Golf

There is a certain element of risk in all sports, golf however factors old people, it has lightening strikes, heart attacks you name it it has it. Evidence shows more men die on a golf course then participating in any other event

Deaths from golf ball strike are not as uncommon as one would think. Try Googling 'Death and injury from golf ball strike' and see what you think.

You can be carrying your clubs to the next hole and your back gives out most DANGEROUS ever (behind guitar hero)

44Fencing

It is very safe. If you wear the regulation gear you cannot get injured beyond minor cuts. I have been fencing for a while and know only two people died in fencing, one got stabbed in the face, so we have stronger masks and the other got stabbed in the armpit, so we have platrons.

I've played fencing for a long time, sure, I always get hurt by being hiting by others, but you're not DIE if you play fencing SAFELY

The object of the sport is to hit the other person with a metal sword.
Enough sa...

45Volleyball

In volleyball, you dive for every single ball and can't ever let a ball touch the ground. You do jump training and practice 6 hours a week. You train and train for it and you get balls slammed at you and have to dig them up into a perfect pass. It takes lots of practice, you can't just come out and be able to play volleyball at high level. You have to get a pass, a set, and a hit. Well, first a serve. So for those of you who say volleyball isn't a sport, it is. It's dangerous and you're constantly on the floor diving for balls.

I have been hurt so many times in this sport my high trainer and other trainers know me by heart.

I have had surgery and crutches for three months because of volleyball. I always have tons of bruises from diving an I know girls that have gotten concussions from their heads hitting the floor when they dive! Volleyball isn't death dangerous but it is most definitely painful.!

46BMX Racing

very dangerous cause so high in the air and not much protecion

47Jumping Rope

I jump rope and have suffered multiple broken bones, twisted ankles, and sprained wrists. Jump rope combines the aspect of cheerleading and dance but then adds a rope that you constantly have to skip over the entire time. Competitions are brutal and last for hours. I've been on a professional jump rope team for 10 years and I have practice everyday, sometimes more than 8 hours in one day. The majority of you could never handle the physical strength that you need in order to jump rope. So learn about it before you bash it.

Jump rope combines gymnastics, dance, cheer, and soccer, when you are on a professional jump rope team that trains for over 10 hours a week like I do. If you haven't noticed, all of the previously mentioned sports are in the top 20. And in the last 2 years on my team, I have witnessed sprains, fractures, dislocations, broken bones, shin splints, and even bleeding. So jump rope should definitely be in the top 15 at least.

48Walking

+1SO FUNNY! Love IT MOST DANGEROUS OVERALL DUH!
i'm SHARING THIS! STILL LAUGHING MY BUTT OF I WAS TRYING TO DO SCIENCE HW BUT NOW I JUST HAVE TO LOOK AT THE REST! BEST WEBSITE EVERR

49Shot Put

At top level the shot is 12 pounds, if you are stupid enough to get hit it will for sure break bones or kill you depending on where it hits

50Gymkhana
51Pointe Dancing

pointe is so dangerous! you could fall over and break your ankle or leg so fast. I know people who have had their toenails ripped off too because of bruising

52Antarctic Racing (Sailing)

This is a dangerous sport and the cold unbearable! You may lose toes fingers and freeze the sails get extremely hard to control and beware of blizzards

Only half of the participants who cross the starting line are able to cross the finish line.

Sailing is a very dangerous sport. If you capsized or turtle the boat you are putting you and your crew in danger. You or your crew could get stuck under the sail and not be able to breahte. My best friend got stuck on the trapeze and almost drowned because she couldn't realease the clip. There are many things that could go wrong on the boat. MY friend's dad did a roll gybe to get ahead of this other sailor in a race and got a huge black eye becuase he got hit by the boom in 20mph of wind. He was so lucky not to loose his eye. I also got hurt sailing because I did a roll gybe and slipped and fell on my tailbone. It has been more than a month and I am still not fully recovered.

53Speed Boat Racing

I'm pretty sure speed boat racing is more dangerous than golf

At the highest level I think its like super powered drag boat racing, I saw on T.V. that 1 in 8 people who do it die so try get more dangerous then that

54TT Racing

No doubt about it, the event lasts 2 weeks a year and every year there are at least 4-5 killed. One year there was 13 deaths. Top speeds reaching 200mph on public roads with no run off area just manx brick walls. Awesome to watch!

absolutely no doubt, over 230deaths since it began and it still carries on! respect x

55Cricket

You can tell this list was made in the USA. They are all girls' games above this one! Cricket is insane! They are allowed to throw a solid, hard, heavy ball at your head and body at over 100mph! And you have a piece of wood 4 inches wide in your hand to hit it with. Then when the ball is travelling at 150mph you have to try to catch it TEN FEET AWAY! NO head protection, gloves, just BALLS! Top sport in India, 700 million population. (i got a cricket ball on the head when I was 10 years old, knocked me out cold for half an hour)

Can cause even death if hit in some areas. No matter how much protection you take its still dangerous. There are some insane fast bowlers. This is one of the sports which you can't even think of playing without proper protection.

You can get hit by the ball in the face which can kill you, also you can die of heat stroke.

56Ping Pong

Without a doubt the most dangerous I broke my penis while trying to hit the ball.
You could also get in the eye with the ball if your not careful.

Wallah its so dangerous! You can break your pinky wallahi bilahi! Fghfh

The ceiling could collapse on table tennis players at any time, crushing them to death. There's also the ever-present danger of catching a life-threatening disease from the bat handles.

57Swimming

I don't see how many of these are in front of swimming. I mean, eating! Really? I've seen so many knee/shoulder injuries, stress fractures, and broken bones in swimming, but I've never seen a serious cheerleading accident. Some people should try real swimming, it will change their mind about it, its extremely difficult and demanding.

How is cricket and badminton and walking more dangerous then swimming you could hit your head off the walls drowned hit any part of your body of something a lane etc could hurt your self diving on the starting blocks pull muscles need I go on?

This whole thing is BS. Everyone got this whole thing wrong. Especially with cheer being first...

58Reno Air Racing

I would like to hear a sport that's more dangerous. In 2008 three pilots were killed in crashes.

These are highly modified, incredibly fast planes that fly in excess of 500MPH, and fly from 15 to 40 feet off the ground. (That's how fast they fly on the course. These prop-driven airplanes are fast enough to break the speed of sound! )

From 6 to 12 planes fly in any one race at a time and they come within feet of eachother at speeds from 450 to 500 MPH's. There have been dozens of fatal crashes over the years in Reno and Mojave. (Mojave has since been discontinued because no one will insure the event. )

In 2008, one pilot crashed right after takeoff. A woman pilot died after her engine blew and she was attempting an emergency landind. And another pilot was killed when two Formula One planes collided in mid air. The second pilot survived while the other pilot, named Hubler nosed over and flew straight into the ground and disintigrated. (Also, two pylon judges were injured after being hit by the debris. )

As far as injuries, I think bull riding is the worst sport. But I would say that pylon air racing is easily the most deadliest sport in the world.
1. Pylon Air Racing.
2. Free Diving.
3. Bull Riding.
These pilots are crazy!

59Roller Skating

This sport really should be in the top ten. Now, I can see how there are more dangerous sports around(ex. : sky diving). But one of the main reasons skaters don't usually get too serious of injuries is because they train. The first step in the sport is learning to balance and not fall! Falling is like a trick; if you land it right, you won't have much trouble getting back up.

rollerskaterpro

I've been skating for a few years now and have had a broken toe broken angle and even was busted open this sport should be in the top 15 if not in the top TEN because if your doing the smallest grind still so much stiff could go wrong even if you do a tiny jump and land a wrong way you could have serious injuries its so under rated just because you see 5-8 year old girls the stuff older people do on skate is mad I'm shocked that this is even under top fifty and when this gets to ten or fifteen this list will at least a little more fixed up

60Downhill Biking

+1Easily one of the most dangerous sports due to when you fall there is no soft snow, no cushion, no net if you're on bridges. Most likely you will be injured twice in a 1 month span.

I broke my neck downhilling this should be top 5 at least there are so many people that do what I did and don't come back from wheelchairs, comas, and even death. This sport should at least have more respect.

Completely agree with this, many people break their backs and necks when they fall off. Not only that but there has been times when a rider who has fell off has continued to roll done the face of a mountain. This sport should be so much higher in the list!

61Acrobatic Rock And Roll

some years ago I have heard it's the second most dangerous sport (F1 first). There were many of really serious injuries ended by wheelchair or death as well. Only it is not so visible sport so nobody knows about this. I have been dancer and trainer for 13 years so I know what I am talking about. If female partner is falling down from 5 meters high...

62Archery

Archery is a real dangerous sport and should be number 20... You mess up your positioning of arrow and bam the arrow flies somewhere else and you kill some one... Even with field tips

63Snowboarding

Snowboarding is dangerous because once I was at a ski resort and a snow anaconda came and ate my hand. And also you never know when you might encounter the yeti. Which reminds me of when my friend Laquisha was boarding in the because. The yeti asked her for a antelope and she said no so the yeti ate her face before she could run away.

You can fall and break your neck and other parts of your body

64Windsurfing

These guys do double forward flips 10m in the air and then they have to land safely with a board, mast and sail! theres also sharks.

65Shinty

Shinty is a team sport played with sticks and a ball. Shinty is now played mainly in the Scottish Highlands, and amongst Highland migrants to the big cities of Scotland. similair to hockey but the hard ball can be played in the air like lacrosse! the players wear no protection so often end up with head injuries and the stick can be swung like a baseball bat so often causes injury! players can also physically tackle other players using shoulder barges ect!

alan.tulloch

66Luge

Wow, Luge is after walking? This is one of the most dangerous sports ever! If you flip over have fun scraping your face off, and god knows what else. You go incredibly fast and you have little hand holds to grab onto, if you slip there goes your fingers! If you do flip and go sailing through the air, no one knows if you'll land without busting your head wide open or worse death! How is walking more dangerous?!?!

Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom I like to eat goat's milk and luge is great... Yea Luge is really awesome. You have no idea... Anyway. I think goats are better than luge. Yess and luge is really really great and oftentimes people do die.

67Muay Thai Boxing

The art of the 8 limbs is considered to be one of the most deadliest forms of martial that utilizes 8 human body parts-Fists, Elbows, Knees, and Shins. This should definitely be in the top ten.

Thai boys training from they are 6 to adult, then getting knocked out with knees to the face has got to be a damn dangerous sport. How can you even argue against it, especially if you have seen them clinch, which is even considered "irty" in regular boxing. This should be in top 5.

68Tennis

Its rebel. People go at your face and everything, I've got black eyes and everything from this game

You could throw your racquet up and it could hit someone.

69Diving
70Softball

Softball is a a very dangerous sport if you make the wrong move you can get hit in the head and die. You get tons of bruises and you can bruise your ribs. When your running you can break your ankle or legs.. Or when you get cleated! I think softball should at least be in the top 10 because a friend of mine got hit in the eye while playing and almost broke a bone. I play Softball as well and I seen some pretty painful stuff. Someones cleats and have to go to the hospital.

My nose broke during a game. The ball came at me like hell rising over -. -

71Beer Pong

Girls 'hurt their leg" in cheerleading but people can end up dead after too much ping pong so suck it cheerleaders.

Dude, I was so drunk I through the ball at the cup, it bounced back, hit me in the chest and I(since I was so hammered)felt like I got shot in the chest... That's how I died. Yeah... Think about that...

72Flatland BMX
73Goat Tying

Goat tying is really hard on ankles and knees when getting off. But it is such a rush that you can't stop! I love goat tying, but truthfully I think that is why my ankles and knees hurt all the time.

74Badminton

A friend of mine got the birdie in the eye and had to go to the hospital! If he had arrived 2 hours later he would have lost his eye. He did need surgery.

75Street Cricket
76Running

Heart attacks, strokes seizures, Passing out, Concussions from passing out and falling, DEATH you got it in running.

77Cross Country Running

you could get spiked with 1/2 inch metal spears. spit on. elbowed. out of the 30 girls on my team, 3 were in boots just this year! others have been in boots previous years.

You could get tripped up and hit your head and get a concussion.

You could fall in a hole and get mauled by a bear, that's never fun, trust me bro

78Squash

Broke the two bones of my forearm by running into back glass wall in an attempt to keep the ball in play. Very easy to roll your ankle in this sport as well.

The ball could rebound, and hit you in the face.

The racquet could easily hit you hard causing broken legs and arms. The court is only so small which makes getting hit more likely.

79Bowling

You could also hurt your wrist if your not use to bowling or even if you know how to bowl and you turn your wrist the wrong way. You could also have shoulder problems if you have a high back swing. Anything could happen if your not careful.

You really hurt your knees a lot because when your getting up to the foul line and slide a lot of the time you could slide just a little bit wrong and it could totally screw up your knee. Once I could hardly walk for 2-3 weeks.

One could slip and injure themselves if they wander out onto the slippery part of the course not to mention how the heavy ball can wear down ones wrist.

80Synchronized Swimming

Synchro is dangerous in the fact that we are constantly pushed to hold our breaths longer and longer. for example one time I held my breath too long and ended up injuring my lungs and having a massive nosebleed. I have also been kicked many times in the head, face, or eyes and I am not allowed to come up because of that, I have to keep holding my breath

This sport is difficult because you have to have advanced water skills, and requires great strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control when upside down underwater. In competitive synchronized swimming, top clubs practice for about 10 hours to even 27 hours and sometimes up to 54 hours when there is no school. Top swimmers swimmers may swim longer than this.

81Sailing

I'm pretty sure more people have died sailing then any of the other things on the list. And sailing is in the olympics, unlike most of these other pansy-ass sports.

Sailing is not dangerous at all so it needs to move down the list luge is more dangrous

82Weight Lifting
83Hurling

Much like Shinty (#58), witht the same historic background but Irish instead of Scottish. Full contact with little or no protective gear. It's a lot like field hockey, but the ball is played in the air. Swinging a club at a ball in the air, often smashing someone in the face or across the arm. You think hockey players don't have teeth, go check these guys out.

Well like the fact that the only protection you have from a ball or a 3 foot long stick often with a metal band on the end I'm sure this should be above lacrosse because the games are similar in ways but hurling is way more dangerous...

84Longboarding

IGHT DUDE SO I WAS SHREDDING THE GNAR AND I WAS LIKE WOAHH AND I HIT MY HEAD ON THE GROUND AND WAS LIKE WOOAHH SO YEAH ITS SUPER DANGEROUS CAUSE I'm BOMBING THESE SICK ASS HILLS AND GO FAST AND WOOAHH

85Kayaking

Seriously, there is no whitewater sport on here? Paddling death defying and dangerous class 5 rapids completely outweighs the danger of catching balls with sticks or tossing idiotic girls in the air

86Rowing
87Tricking
88Kart Racing

Hey Mom! No worries. I'm giving up gymnastics to do something much safer, like say... Kart Racing! Never mind that it's much faster than Dad's Porsche!

Not indoor but proper karting, I'm 15 the class I drive in reach 80 mph at the end of the straight with grids of up to 30 drivers, roll happen frequently which can end up with 100kg landing on your head as that is the highest point in the kart the last two races I have been in have been abandoned because of accidents one of them ended up with the driver being airlifted to hospital and he ended up with a broken arm, collarbone leg, very bad concussion, a load of broken ribs and a hairline fracture at the neck. Doctors said the only thing that saved him from being paralyzed was his very expensive neck brace which no one else there had or could afford that day, if it had been someone else they would have been paralyzed or worse

89CrossFit Games
90Cycling
91Lawn Bowling
92Street Luge
93Cliff Diving
94Karate
95Handball

Not many outside of Europe knows about handball. Its kind of like soccer just with your hands. I have played handball for 10 years and I have gotten a concussion, my shoulder out of place twice, pulled my thumb and fractured many of my fingers. Handball is a tough sport where there is a lot of physical contact and a handball player don't wear a lot of protection just on your knees when you jump to score.

96Pole Climbing
97Bouldering
98Gliding
99Trap Shooting
100Hot Air Ballooning

Optional - Explain why you think your addition should be included in this list
