“Horseback Riding is the most dangerous sport, because you are riding a over 1500 pound, unpredictable animal, that has a bad day, you could get injured or killed. It is a extreamely hard sport, unless you practice more than once per week, and you can’t just know how to ride, by jumping on the horses back. Horses are animals, and very unpredictable.”
“I think horseback riding is the most dangerous sport because you ALWAYS need to be prepared for everything, especially if the horse is in a bad mood. Horses are very unpredictable and the is whats so risky about this sport. I ride myself and I have to admit, it is dangerous. I love it though, but all riders need to expect the unexpected.”
“I know how hard horse riding is. I have been training a 2 year old since I was 10... now come on. think about that. He threw me off and Broke me collar bone. And I’ve broken my nose. My friend broke her pelvis and another girl was paralyzed for life cause she fell off. Horse riding should at least be in the top 5.”

Cheerleading
“ok, anyone who doesn’t see that this is the most dangerous sport is freakin dumb. last year, I was doing a twist cradle and I fell on my head. this year, I can’t do cheering because one mistake could mess up my head and I could get brain damage. there are more than 50,000 deaths EVERY YEAR from cheering, and more than 500,000 injuries, AND 6,000 PARALYZED EACH YEAR!”
“I am a cheerleader as you can see and I tink its the most dangerous because at our competitions lot of girls get hurt and they have the stretcher, aid kit and stuff already waitin for someone to get hurt because its really common. I have to be thrown really high in the air and flip in the air! also twist and kick but... I have to do all this stuff HOPING the girls underneath will CATCH me. also, I have to get flipped over peoples head really elaborately and flip people over mines and all type of stuff and still have to hope that the people underneath will ctach me. after all the risk and times you fall or get hurt it still is fun to get out dere and show people your skills and what you can do and accomplish so don’t get discouraged from cheerleading just know what your doing and if you are scared or don’t trust your catchers I advise that you tell that you are not ready or that you have a problem because it can lead to very serious problems”
“personally, I think it is a very dangerous. at least a lot more dangerous than the current #1, horseback riding. I mean, not only do they have tumbling, which could cause many of various injuries. but cheerleaders have to do stunts [lift up ppl] and they throw those people in the air. then after that they have to catch them! so I think this should definitely be the #1 choice!
besides that other sports just lift weights to get muscles and endurance. but cheerleaders, they lift people! =]”

“ha the balls are like 2lb and get thrown up to 90 mph”

Bull Riding
“I think if a Bull starting attacking you and got you then you would be sckrewed”
“i totally agree. this sport is crazy. i would never do it because i dont feel like gettint thrown from an animal weighing 2000lb and dieing”
“This is one of the most dangerous, I went to a rodeo and some guy fell off and started having a seizure it was really scary!
You need to have nerve to be a bull rider!”

Gymnastics
“I did gymnastics for 13 yrs. I had 2 compressed vertebras, a broken tailbone, broken toes and fingers, torn tendons in ankels and seperated shoulder. I was level 9 when I went to High school and would have gotten to Nationals in Uneven Bars if I hadn’t had done the vertebra issue. It is the most dangerous sport!”
“I was in gymnastics for 9 years and had many minor injuries, but also had some serious ones. Such a difficult sport, and super dangerous. When I was 14, I fractured my wrist so badly that they thought they were going to have to amputate it from my elbow down. Luckily, I managed to go through 3 emercency surgeries and come out of my 4 day hospital stay with my arm! I know a lady who had to have both knee caps replaced, due to all the damage from gymnastics over the years. I have weak wrists and knees now, but I’d do it all over again if I could! I recommend this sport for males and females. It teaches you discipline, balance, flexibility, coordination, team work, etc. It is demanding, but well worth it.”
“gymnastics can be dangerous but it can also be fun. I broke my shoulder and got back up and did the trick again.”

Soccer
“Soccer is dangerous because you only have shin guards for protection”
“soccer is a very hard sport and you have to work really hard on it to make sure your safe. which still doesn’t cover for all the pain. indoor is really bad because you slam people into walls and you pull hair and cuss at eachoter. but let me be the first to tell you as a soccer player soccer is amazing. I mean its such a rush! GO KC SELECT RENEGADES!”
“soccer is so dangerous. the only padding you were are shinguards. people slide tackle, kick, you can head the ball wrong. there are so many ways to get injuries in soccer.”

Motocross
“either motorcross or bull riding. how would horse back riding be all that dangerous?”
“how is cheerleading more dagerous than motocross. try doing a double backflip 60 feet in the airand trying to throw a 250 pond bike around. in cheerleading you are 20 feet off the ground”
“no one has any idea
how physically and mentally
challanging motocross is until
the do it. controlling a 200-250 lbs. bike for 20 minutes straight
isnt easy!”

Hockey
“haha, "i’m the best hockey player in the state... first year pee wee. "
anyways, hockey should definitely be ahead of lacrosse. hockey is a lifestyle, lacrosse is just what hockey players do in the off season.”
“fights
”
“hockey is should definitely be in the top 5 or at least ahead of soccer. You are constantly getting hit into the boards which can lead to broken bones, concussions and more. I broke my arm twice from a slash, lost 2 teeth getting high sticked, and KO some guy in a fight”

Football
“I PLAY FOOTBALL IT REALLY COULD HURT YOU IF YOU GET HIT HARD YOU COULD BREAK SOMETHING
YOU COULD REALLY GET HURT”
“i play football and believe me I am only in the middle division league and ive already had a sprained ankle and a busted knee...and weve only had 3 games!!! plus you never here of center’s getting hurt...well look at me busted knee and strained ankle!!! and i am a center...FOOTBALL RULZ!!! =D”
“Even with all those pads, the average career in the NFL is 3.5 years and half of all players retire because of injury (Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif.). Do the math on that one and it is pretty obvious that the football field is not a safe place to be.”

Rugby League
“God, this list is pathetic. SOCCER IS NUMBER SIX!?!?!?! Are you kidding me? The only way people get hurt in soccer is if they dive incorrectly and end up twisting an ankle... oh NO!
I don’t exactly like playing or watching rugby, but I know for a fact it is tougher than soccer. It is basically football... with no pads. So:
rugby>soccer
rugby>football
rugby>lacrosse
rugby>hockey
rugby>gymnastics (people aren’t trying to kill you in gymnastics or cheerleading)
rugby>cheerleading
rugby>bull riding (it’s only for 8 seconds! )
rugby>horseback riding: you have to be more specific. Racing, I can understand. Anything else, no. Even in racing, though the injures are almost sure to happen and be terrible if you fall off... if you fall off. So don’t fall off.”
“It’s like football with no padding and much more aggressive positions. You end up doing the flips that you do in gymnastics but instead of landing someone pushes you.”
“has anyone here ever played rugby, it is by far more dangerous than anything on this list, especially football and cheerleading, you play it with no pads, no protection and you have no blockers its full contact. people break arms and legs and go away with bloody faces. then they come back for more, do your research, this IS the most dangerous sport besides maybe base jumping (not a sport i would recomend by the way.)”
