I mean they are good but not anywhere near actors like Brando, Pacino, DeNiro and Hopkins. And where is Morgan Freeman? Good lord! I guess this list should be renamed to 'favorite actors of present generation' instead of 'top ten greatest actors'. Streetcar; Waterfront; Julius Ceasar; Wild One; Zapata - five performances right out of the gate that have no equal! Not even Brando could compete with these early ground breaking roles. Anthony Hopkins, Russell Crowe, Paul Newman all stated that he was the best by far. I think he became disillusioned with film making and fame and so withdrew his gift from the art form and walked on in later roles to keep the money coming in. His Godfather role was highly over rated but his presence is what made it work and it was a masterpiece of film making in every aspect. A one off for sure was Brando who was once labeled "The Talent Of Our Time"!

I believe that not only is Denzel Washington a good African American Actor, but rather he is a talented performer regardless. I think that most directors could pretty much assign him the responsibilities of any role that was not dependent on color to portray, whether that be from a movie script of stage play since he got his acting start on the dramatic theater stage performing in front of live audiences...and he would do as well a job as any other performer in successfully bringing the character to life enjoyably. He is very entertaining to watch due to his ability to become very animated and encompass each character he portrays.

Watch the fighter, American Psycho and The Machinist. Now I dare you to say he isn't a good actor. Should definitely be in top 15 at minimum. I like Johnny Depp but the guy is getting really overrated.
The master of accents and physical transformation. One of the few who can do art films all the way to comic book movies convincingly.
Not the absolute best but should be in Top 10. not sure why depp made it ahead of legends like Gary Oldman, Daniel Day Lewis, Marlon Brando, Russel Crowe and Robert De Niro. These guys could easily make the top 5. Depp is overrated. In terms of talent, I consider him to be on the same level as Christian Bale and Leornardo Dicaprio and seeing him very far ahead is just stupid enough I wanna shoot myself. Also there's a lot of Indian actors. I never seen any of their movies so can't say much about them either. But I'm sure Christian Bale kicks pretty much a whole junk of their cartoonish ass.

Thought I would round off my list with, well not really an up and comer, but one that is definitely talented. Ryan Gosling is another who simply can not turn in a poor performance. Think back, can you remember one? In 2006 his performance in Half Nelson was unbelievable. I think he deserved the Best Picture, even with how good Hoffman was as Capote. There's another actor I left off... Gosling will have a Best Actor very soon, it will happen. Excellent actor, Gary Oldman Jr.
