He led Philippine forces first against ...read more. Disregarding the popularity trend among the Philippi ne Patriot. No doubt history record shows his achievements in the battlefield was beyond expectations. He led many battles and achieved victories! (Kawit, Imus, Talisay, Binakayan, Zapote Bridge, Aliaga, Alapan & many more.) Despite without any experience and formal military education.
I vote for his even he lost the war against the U.S. but during the conflict against Spain he was more than capable even without any military background.
Love or Hate this man did what others could not establishing an identity for our own FILIPINO race.
Establishing a country no doubt and winning battle is enough for him earning the top spot.
I really can't understand why A. Luna is considered the greatest general? of the PHI when so many other leaders did a better job, took care of their men and were more successful. Several times he should have been court martialed for his behavior and failure on the battlefield..not to mention the town he burned. No wonder some wanted him dead he pissed off a lot of folks in the Revolutionary Army...Aguinaldo could have removed him long before he was shot and hacked...but kept him on.
How can he be the best he can't even win a battle under his command?! having admiration from an enemy doesn't equal to success if you can't even won it.
I think he doesn't really reprsent the Philippines... he only fought for his Tribe.
Certainly not the best he can't even win a single battle.
Very underrated he was a war hero during World War 2.
