Without question, Meryl Streep is by far the greatest actress of all time. Her dedication to her art is unmistakable. While it may be difficult to pick a "greatest actor (male)", this really isn't even a choice. If you watched three movies with her, you would see three different people that look the same as opposed to a marketable, barely individual performer.

Meryl without a doubt, nobody else even comes close. Every film she plays a completely different character, with 100% accuracy and commitment. Seen every one except the Abba one, can't bring myself to watch that, but I'm sure she's great. Too many favorites to mention, Devil wears Prada the best recent one, Bridges of Madison County great because it stars the 2 greatest actors of all time, the rafting one her best action film, and Sophie's Choice the most distressing. Kate Winslet is the only one who has a chance of surpassing her, but I think at the end of the day 123 will be Meryl, Kate, Angeline.

THE BEST! She was wonderful in Prada, and I don't think anyone else could have done that part as well as she did. She is so amazing, especially at her age.

In my personel opinion, she is the best actress that ever lived. She made quite a performance in ''The Silence of The Lambs'', the Magnum Opus in her career so far. I hope that she won't quit acting yet-I'd love to see her in a new movie.

And in her new show, The Starter Wife, she amazes me when she did her dream sequences: some examples: spoofs of Queen Elizabeth, Clint Eastwood of Dirty Harry, Drew Barrymore's role in Scream, etc. Even in movies that may have been moderately popular, like The Wedding Date, or the remake of McHale's Navy (her character: Lt. Penelope Carpenter, etc. ) she always gives top notch performances. She's also equally proficient in dramatic performances as in comedy. I'm not an opera buff, but in some Will & Grace episodes, she demonstrated her beautiful singing. I'd put her closer to the level of Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon in talent. I just hope she does more big screen roles. The only other actress that I like equally to Debra is Jasmine Guy (Different World, Dead Like Me, etc. ). They are my two favorite actresses: I'd love to see them work togeter someday.
