I know golf isn't as physical as most other sports, but I play golf and know how easy it is to make a mistake. Tiger Woods is the best athlete because of all his accomplishments & is still young and will be achieving even more before he's done. Michael Jordan was great, but his name also gave him extra room with refs and getting away with stuff, not to mention the intimidation he struck into others that guarded him. Tiger has no refs, therefor no miss calls or extra slack from refs because of his star level.

Tiger should be number 1 in my opinion Nobody has the mind set that has or is as dominant or intimidating, confident, talented and not to mention playing probably the hardest game physicaly against a feild of about 140 other players from around the globe who are great players is truely impossible to keep on dominating after a good decade and the guy is probably just entering his prime now because better every year from the last, so he keeps on improving his game all the time and nobldy can stop him

Anyone who says golf isn't a sport is just arrogant because it takes strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, and TREMENDOUS mental strength. What Tiger Woods has done is just simply amazing.
He's the only athlete on this list that can and will actually be able to change the world as we know it. He has transcended his sport and is completely and utterly dominant within it.
