Meryl Streep

Without question, Meryl Streep is by far the greatest actress of all time. Her dedication to her art is unmistakable. While it may be difficult to pick a "greatest actor (male)", this really isn't even a choice. If you watched three movies with her, you would see three different people that look the same as opposed to a marketable, barely individual performer.

Meryl without a doubt, nobody else even comes close. Every film she plays a completely different character, with 100% accuracy and commitment. Seen every one except the Abba one, can't bring myself to watch that, but I'm sure she's great. Too many favorites to mention, Devil wears Prada the best recent one, Bridges of Madison County great because it stars the 2 greatest actors of all time, the rafting one her best action film, and Sophie's Choice the most distressing. Kate Winslet is the only one who has a chance of surpassing her, but I think at the end of the day 123 will be Meryl, Kate, Angeline.

THE BEST! She was wonderful in Prada, and I don't think anyone else could have done that part as well as she did. She is so amazing, especially at her age.

Meryl is able to play diverse roles with ease... at least she makes it look easy! She has had a long career and continues to be in new films. She also is not afraid to show her age... a definite plus.

Well as Meryl Streep would say there is no best actress. But she is by far my favouriite actress! Because she is absolutely phenominal in everything she does.

I use to think that Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwick, Elizabeth Taylor, Kathrine Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman and Glenn Close (2nd only to Meryl Streep) were the best.. But I saw the Iron Lady movie were she plays Margaret Thatcher.. She was incredible.. The woman is the Queen

A record of 17 academy award nominations with 2 wins (as of January 2012) What else can you say? She's a great consistent performer!

Absolutely the ultimate actress. She doesn't act, she BECOMES the character and almost nobody else has that ability. I also love Glen Close and she does a fine job with her roles but she does not seem to have the knack of becoming the character, assuming their persona. I believe Meryl to be the greatest actress in the world.

Meryl Streep is without question, you think she is not the same person when you see any of her movies. She is wonderful acting I think nobady else can do us eall us her.

Meryl's natural and studied approach to acting surpasses human capacity. Almost unreal but real, very subtle but penetrating. No one comes up to her level.
