LaDainian Tomlinson

I'm pretty sure no one had seen his receiving stats. He has over 1400 yds more than Barry Sanders and well 1200 yds over Emmitt Smith, not to mention his 144 TDs in only 10 seasons. Granted he hadn't finished strong he's last years, but he still putting some yards in. Also, we shouldn't used superbowl rings when comparing positions, because it takes a whole team to win one not just one player, that's more of a Quarter Back's conundrum. I think the list should go Emmitt first, then LT and third Barry. By the way I'm not a Charger's fan; more of a Colts fan, who's hopes had been crushed by the Chargers in the Playoffs more than any other team.

Most touchdowns in a season. First to get 1000 rushing yards and 100 receptions in one season. 8 straight seasons 1000 yards rushing and 50 receptions. Fastest player to score 100 touchdowns. One of only 7 players to rush for, catch, and throw for a touchdown in a single game. Broke 46 year old record for most points scored in a single season (which was held by a kicker). The list goes on and on. Most of all, he declines being on the cover of Madden '08 and calmly and willingly steps down from the limelight to share a roll with a young running back. I don't know how you can get any more humble than that

He was the michael jordan of the nfl in the way that you could hold him to 40 rushing yards thru 3 quarters then all the sudden, the games over, chargers win, and he ends up with 150 rush yards and 2 touchdowns. Barry sanders was never a receiver out the backfield the way LT and payton were which is why I would have my 5 like this: 1)LT 2)w. Payton 3)b. Sanders 4)j. Brown 5)E. Dickerson.. Jim brown was bigger then most defenders and therefore if he played in this era he might of been more mortal.. LT can do it all ina era were 280 lb defenders run 4.6 forties.. Enough said

Barry was great... I mean great, but LT... Just when you think of him you think wow that was a complete back. To the running, catching, blocking, and even throwing. He is one of those types of backs that you don't see often... Nothing against emmitt or anything, but I wanna point out a lot of runningbacks on this list could of done what he did with the type of team he had... He had great blockers, and a great Qb Wr, and that help take of some of the pressure for him

in my book if you wanna look at it as complete back its either walter or LT... Barry has good mves though

Lets see the stats and compare...159 touchdowns and 13404 rushing yards... LT will fly past the great emmit smith in TDs and will run further then barry guaranteed and maybe even walter... Laugh out loud the funny thing is people actually think he as to be constant to reach these goals... He's so close any average human could break them in his situation

I like where he sits on this list... I think it's pretty accurate
I think when it's all said and done hel have all the records and all, but I don't think he will accept being considered number one, he is way to humble.

But he's the greatest in my eyes

Fast, Agile, Smart, Strong, Breaks tackles like the tackler is a QB, catches and runs like a WR. Never doubt LT, to come up big.

L.T IS GOING TO FINISH HIS CAREER WITH MORE THEN 18,000 YARDS AND HE WILL PASS EMMIT SMITHS RECORD FOR RUSHING YARDS. THIS GUY IS THE BEST OF ALL TIME. AND THE FASTEST OF ALL TIME. AND THE MOST POWERFUL.WAT ELSE DO I GOTTA SAY THIS GUY IS THE BEST RUNNING BACK OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

LT is untouchable in open field and if you can getting ready to meet a train because he will hit you so hard you will be in the hospital and he has the most touchdowns in a NFL season so maybe he dosen't have the rushing yards record at least he knows how to score unlike Payton and Sanders. SO LT for LIFE!

This guy is breaking all the greats records. Fortunately, he can care less for them or the MVP or the rushing titles. All he wants is a ring and will do everything possible to bring one to San Diego. Once he gets it, there will be no question who is the BEST BACK EVER!

Never had as good of a team as Smith or Payton, found the end zone better than anyone. Beat out Jim brown with his ability to catch and be a 3rd down guy. Beats out Barry sanders by almost single handedly making the chargers great.

I never got to see payton or Barry but LT was definitely the best of my day. He's got the all time record for rushing tds in a season, and he could catch swell. He's a TCU. Alum as well!

I agree not just the chargers are my favorite but he has more years left in him and he pass everyone like he driving a porche and everyone else is in a mini van

Best running back I've seen in years, he demonstrates: power, speed, quickness, elusive and a smart back. All of that in one creates LT.

ladanian once had over 30 touchdowns in 2006. cleary the best running back of all time. and is the perfect mix of speed and power.

LT! hes already on 3rd on the top 10 and he hasn't even been playing for more then 10 years! that shows something

has barely played a little more than half of his career and is already in the top 5 in most rushing categories

With His speed, power, catch skill, and his mind make him as an Excelent Runnerback in American Football.

Lt is all out the best back ever nobody can compare to his talent this guy was born for the game

He is my favorite running back ever and he plays for the San Diego Chargers.

When it is all said and done, this guy will have been the best all around back EVER!
