Shannon Leto at number one? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Shannon doesn't have the talent that Bonham had in his LITTLE FINGER. He shouldn't even be in the top 100 drummers, it's absolutely ridiculous. Bonham was the most influential drummer of all time, all modern drummers would have studied Bonham like their life depended on it. He's influenced the likes of Dave Grohl (Who should be on this list anyway) Joey Kramer, Lee Kerslake, Tony Thompson, Tommy Lee, Peter Criss, Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith, Dave Lombardo and Brad Wilk... Some of the greatest drummers of today who quite frankly would outplay Shannon Leto blindfolded and with a single hand.
There are only a couple that can even share his spotlight... The off beat by a billisecond he plays at sets all pace and direction like no other... We can only march when he beats... Only Ginger Baker is close... Most others only bang the gong... Not many drummers have true effect on the sound... I am not even a tap my hands on the desk guy... But when I hear Zeppelin or Cream - I am compelled to listen first to the Drums of these two geniuses... The expert background of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jack Bruce and Robert Plant are only supporting roles to these different drummers...
Seriously! I would understand the almighty Bonzo (who is most certainly the best) being #7 behind Neil Peart (the only actual good drummer up ahead), Keith Moon, Carl Palmer, Ginger Baker, Bill Bruford, & Buddy Rich, but LARS ULRICH & that overrated joey guy from that overrated band that all these hipster teenagers who call themselves metalheads (I personally dislike metal) seem to adore, & what's with all these Japanese guys that nobody's ever heard of winning polls? I just died a little inside when I saw this.
Why isn't Bonham #1? Also is it just me or are their about 7 names in the top ten I've never heard of? This list is a terrible representative of the best drummer of all time. Have you ever listened to one of Bonham's drum solos? He does so much with such a small set and can continue like 4 different rhythms at the same time. He is the best.

There's nothing anyone past present or future, did, done, or gonna do on the drum's that this guy couldn't have done or even beat. Timing flowed from this guy like it unravels from order to chaos yet still stayed in time, I don't know how, He was obviously a God, Too create such time signatures.
I just love the fact that he played with four drum sticks. When you watch him play, you can see the sweat coming off of his body; drumming was a complete workout for him.
BONHAM #1, Moby Dick was amazing. Zeppelin wouldn't have been with another drummer. Too good to even be the 2nd all time. Bonham is clearly the best and unfortunately these people didn't get the memo, all other lists on the internet even have him at 1...
Truest drummer for the music. Best soul expressed in musical content of variation in musical sound being of latin origin or middle eastern. Fantastic feel whether dark sounds or very up lifting. He's not just a drummer, but a men with vision R>I>P>
Without a doubt, Bonzo deserves to hold the top spot. He was the total package that any self-respecting drummer should aspire to be like. Those that disagree really need to go listen to 'Moby Dick' from "The Song Remains The Same"

Bonzo is the best endurance drummer of all time! the man was like thunder and lighting when he played, he even played non stop in concerts, and they last 2 hours, including a 20 minute drum solo!
What a shame that most of the voters never heard a real drummer. Bonzo is the best. Period. I doubt that this poll is representative at all, but after all it's a matter of personal taste, too.
John Bonham is an EPIC drummer. Just go to Youtube and watch his live perfomance of "Moby Dick". He plays during more than 10 minutes with an outstanding energy.
This drummer was probably the best rock drummer of all time if not the best in any genre. Just listen to a live version of Moby Dick and be blown away by his drum solo.

Who are the others in this list? Barring a few, I've never heard of them! It is clear to see that Bonham should be number one; the man was a drumming god.
Moby Dick. That should be enough to get him into at least the top 5. Plus you add in songs like the end of Kashmir where he puts those awesome fills. And also Good Times Bad times.
The drummer of the best band of all times... His death was the cause of the separation of Led zeppelin... No one was able to replace it...

he is a beast. I think personally he is better than neil peart. he worked the same kind of magic as neil but with a way smaller drum set
