Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball z is the best. Is the father of all manga anime. If Dragon ball z wasn't exist Naruto and the others also wasn't exist. The nine tails fox is a copy by the giant monkey from Dragon Ball z

No show reinvented a genre like DBZ. They showed that fast paced action was awesome. But, its best aspect was its characters which were awesome. They fought from Radditz all the way to Omega Shenron. Best series ever and a memory of my childhood

You heard it right, Dragon Ball Z haters! No matter how much you hate it, this anime has to be the most popular in our generations. Not only in Japan and the US but in other countries all over the world as well. Just check it's Wikipedia page and see how many languages it has been translated into. Most people who got into the anime fandom started with Dragon Ball Z. Some people bash Dragon Ball Z for it's long fight scenes that span into several episodes, for characters that move too fast that you don't see them anymore, etc. Some even compare it to newer action titles and say that the new title is better because it got better story and action scenes. Sure. When it comes to story and action scenes, I don't put Dragon Ball Z on my number one either but were talking "greatest" here. I try to recall how much I loved it during it's time when this new anime doesn't exist yet. How much excitement did it gave me back then and compare that to the excitement this newer anime with better story and fight scenes gives me. I can say that nothing beats Dragon Ball Z for that matter. It was the first of it's kind and the others only followed. Only a few considers Muhamad Ali to be the pound-for-pound best boxer of all time, he's been beaten several times while other fighters retire with their records unblemished. But why is it everyone considers him "The Greatest"?

DBZ is totally the best out there the storyline and characters are all cool man my favorite 10 characters are the following:
1. Vegeta: His like the second most powerful character of the entire series but in my eyes his number one and is always series he has pride and loves fighting Vegeta should win Goku because that's my opinion
2. Kid Buu: The strongest villain yet in the entire series (excluding GT villains) Kid Buu almost annihilated the entire universe and he has enormous power he is capable of defeating SSJ3 (Excluding Super Saiyan 4)
3. Piccolo: Piccolo is not that strong but at least he can keep up with the saiyans but what if he was a saiyan he might by much stronger than he is right now he is the strongest on earth without the saiyans and his special beam cannon man that's one powerful technique'
4. Gohan: Gohan man where should I start that guys power whoa he was at first much more powerful then Goku but then he surpassed him but yet again at the cell games he was the first super saiyan 2 and his mystic form is maybe as strong as a super saiyan 3 but what if he had transformed into a super saiyan or better yet a super saiyan 2 whoa some serious power that's going to be
5. Gogeta: Gogeta is the fusion of Goku and Vegeta but to think that Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta was not powerful enough to defeat Janember but when they fused together to create the ultimate warrior one attack killed him
6. Goku: Some people like him because his strong and the one that fights the most powerful fighters while Vegeta are Gohan face the second strongest most of the time but to me I only like Goku because his Vegeta's rival nothing else
7. Krillin: Krillin is the strongest human on earth but with the saiyans, Buu and Piccolo there his nothing compared to them his also very funny and best friend to Goku he use to be able to keep up with him when they were younger
8. Cell: Cell is one cool character and powerful he can absorb any life form and imagine what will happen if he was in his perfect form and absorbed all the saiyans, namekians, Frieza, Majin Buu and the movie villians
9. Frieza: Frieza used to be the most powerful warrior in the universe but I beg to differ because there was a lot of fighters out there such as Broly, Cooler and Bojack before Goku came to Namek but still be was the one who made Goku transform into a Super Saiyan
10. Future Trunks: Future Trunks is cool in my eyes and I like his sword and how he defeated plus killed Frieza in an instant he is very powerful and might be able to transform into a super saiyan 2 as wall

As a 21-year old person, I've watched countless animes: Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, One Piece, Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, you name it.
It is not about beeing a fan or not. It is not about the fact that Dragon Ball Z was the anime of my childhood.
It is about the greatness, ingeniuity, and originality of the anime. In every single way, it was able to keep my interest, to keep me grinding my nails, to make me cry, and even to make me laugh. In every single way, it amazed me. From the fact that a person can use energy to destroy or heal, to the originality of the capsule's technology. The mixture of myth's such as the Dragonballs themselves, or the myth of a Super Sayan, with fabulous designs and a main character that simply speaks to your heart has had this outcome. This anime is in my opinion, the absolute greatest. For it's simplicity and complexity at the same time. For it's wonderful creator: Akira Torayama. For it's amazing way to give you just what you want to see. For all this, Dragon Ball: I thank you. I would not even be an Illustrator without you today. I would not be the person I am. Thank you.
It is incredible that an anime made so many years ago, still shines so brightly.

Dragonball. I mean, nothing needs to be said more than that. It practically created the shonen genre(or at the least, brought it in the mainstream)
There is not a single shonen out today that does not, even if the slightest bit, take from Dragonball. It just captures fantasy, it captures it in a way none other anime or manga can; although, they can try and can even be on par with Dragonball, but the truth of the matter is: Dragonball was there first. It's fan base and notoriety spans across generations. I'm only 18, and my 28 year old brother is a fan, my 30 year old brother is a fan and our 56 year old mother is a fan. She would even stay up late and watch it with us when I was a baby and my brothers were teenagers. Whenever the family all gets together for special occasions(even extended family) we reminisce the awesomeness that is Dragonball.
If you went to the school I just graduated from, you could talk to anyone(jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, you name it) and bring up Dragonball, they would either gladly admit and openly express their like for it or pretend they didn't until you caught them in their lie.
If you don't like Dragonball, I feel you may actually be made of evil.

Dragon Ball Z is my very favorite. It's forever making me so excited to see what happens next, what enemy they are going to fight next and the like. I cried like a baby through most of the series, but that may just be because I'm a girl. I see all these other animes and think "Man, this is just like Dragon Ball Z. " And they R.It was so great, everything had to copy it! Story wise? Yeah, there are some out there with a more interesting, fun story. But all in all, Dragon Ball Z is my favorite, forever. It's got a fandom that's growing, even today. And you also have to take this into consideration: a lot of people who don't know what anime is like Dragon Ball Z. So they won't come to these things to vote, they don't even know they exist. They don't know about Naruto, or Bleach... Inuyasha, or One Piece. All they know is they like Dragon Ball Z. That's why the fanbase is so big, because people who don't care for, like, or even know what anime is, like Dragon Ball Z. <3 Also, It didn't need a good story. It was great on it's own, just being there.

Dragon Ball Z is what practically started every other anime and manga. Really. Every other show that I watch is somewhat based on Dragon Ball Z. I mean, compared to newer anime the story probably isn't as great, probably doesn't have as good action scenes, sure. However, This was made in it's time. And it's still loved today, and that should count for something. Besides, it's not all about how good someone looks while they're beating someone's face in. I mean, sure it's fine to show alittle bit of the fight instead of them bouncing around everywhere, Dragon Ball Z does that, But really, do you require to see every bit of action? You probably already know what it looks like. Also, they have to put emphasis on how fast they R.It just adds to the awesome, and how really Super-Human/Saiyan they R.I love Dragon Ball Z. It's my favorite now, and it always will be.

Me personally I watched All the DBZ episodes and I LOVE them there so intense just get a few episodes in and thats when it gets exiting but I would recommend watching DragonBall first because it came before Dragon Ball Z watch Dragon Ball first because when you watch dbz you would know the story a little better its when Goku is a kid.

Anime which is the epitome for shonen anime success worldwide.
DBZ has set the benchmark for all shonen anime to aim for. Brought in the concept of train -- get stronger -- beat your enemy, the rule piously followed by all current animes... But nothing comes close to this masterpiece, not because its the most brilliant plot rather the idea was revolutionary and fun to watch.
I can still watch DBZ again even after all these years, which cannot be told of any current animes (because they will put you to sleep)

DBZ No. 1 ever.. Enough said.

I'm not going to claim that every other anime in the universe is rubbish in the face of DBZ. I've watched the whole of Naruto, and I'm busy watching Shippuden at the moment. But I still think that Dragon Ball Z is the father of all Shonen anime's, and by far, one of the best of them too. It's famous for it's intense battles which last for episodes on end, packed with epic moments. Come on, who can forget Final Flash. It's also got it's lighter, more humorous moments, for example the whole mini-series with Gohan at High School and the time when Goku and Vegeta were trapped inside Buu. Those few episodes always make me chuckle when I watch them. All over, it's a brilliant anime, and it deserves the number one spot it has up here.

I watch so many anime in my life.. But no one can beat Goku and friend... Event though all anime fight against dragon ball, the result its all character Dragon ball win so easy.. Not only have great strong but great story.. Naruto only escape in middle fight.. But Dragon ball fight until death... Rusounin kenshin, trigun, gensomaidan sayuki, sailor moon is more the best than all new generation anime(bleach or naruto)... Don't forget lucky star (so funny)

Dragon ball z is the best anime ever... Because dragon ball z story is very enjoying and the best thing in dragon ball z is Goku... He is the best personal that I saw... He is strong and friendly and enjoying in the fight... And do not forget vegeta... He is one of famouse persons in DBZ... And many of fans love him... He is Mysterious and strong... I love dragon ball Z... Yes DBZ have many haters but it is the best anime... I can only Describe it the ( best&greatest&cool&strongest) anime... Watch it and you will understand what I talking about... I do not mean that is Naruto shippuden and One piece are bad animes... But DBZ is the best... Goku teach me to never stop dreaming and trying to do something so thank you GOKU... I will never forget you... You teach me more than other people... And vegeta too... So I can't forget it...

Dragon Ball Z is more than just a regular anime it has emotion and character. The long fight scenes bring it above others because the writers new about keeping suspense up and you watching. Another fact is that it posses the most powerful characters in anime history. If you compare all the fighters in Dragon Ball Z to those in other anime series you will see that even the first enemy, Raditz, could easily defeat the strongest character in their series. Also the comedy is perfect. I LOVE it when I see Goku getting drug around and beaten by Chichi. If you have never watched an episode of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, or Dragon Ball GT, I encourage you to watch the first 3 episodes of each and see if you can stop there

Dragon Ball Z is the greatest anime ever made. Point blank period. The fight scenes are mostly what people rant and rave about but, the character development (such as vegeta) was something to be revered and respected. Dragon ball Z has earned that respect in kind. The fan base is world wide and it isn't just us old dragon ball z fans. Thanks to the video games new dbz fans are showing up and trying kamehameha waves in there back yard just like I did when I was 10. An anime is truly great when it has gone its course then is utterly smeared by the wretched DBGT & Dragon ball evolution (barf) and returns after nearly 15 years with a new movie (which came out 3 days ago) just by the many people demanding it.

That is what you call greatness.

No other show influenced Japanese animation into western culture more then dragonball z did. It is the first cartoon ever to have an article in wall street journal which called it a blockbuster hit. Possibly the greatest cartoon series of all time, there is a reason why it was the most highest rated program in the world for kids age 9-16 for a six year span. It was a staple of most kids lives who grew up in the 90's and early 2000's. Greatest anime of all time and it's not even close.

No question 'bout it. The Best anime ever, DBZ. It has proved to be the most exiting series yet the fights last long but the goosebumps that those fights brings makes it the best. The action so fast, the characters so great. I could spend my whole weekend watching this series rather than hanging around with my friends, its so fascinating rather I would say addicting that no other anime series could create such an impact at least on my mind. Naruto is yet another a great one but naruto has a father and his name is GOKU.

I have no idea why the hell Naruto is on top, because, compared to DBZ, it's nothing. Naruto's storyline is very repetitive, boring and dragged out for at least six episodes. Most episodes are hardly action, rather flashbacks and cuts to other insignificant characters. Dragon Ball Z is an old-school classic and, hands down, one of the greatest anime of all time.

Nothing else can compare to this anime. The longest reigning anime of all time and has delivered to extremely high expectations. The story line is just too epic. Watching Goku grow up from a kid to the strongest warrior in the universe has been a pleasure. I would love nothing more than for them to continue this anime with the original characters but a show has to stop somehwhere and Dragon Ball Z was the best anime, is the best anime and will be the best anime to me forever. #DBZfanforLife. One piece and Naruto can fight for second place but DBZ will always be the best anime ever

Champion all the time. The give the impossible villain all the time, and then the hero will definitely losing the battle. With consistent fight, persistent, will power, somehow the hero make it back and save the earth. Genius story. Yet funny. All the entertainment needed in anime/series was here. They don't make it like this anymore. It won't be fair to compare other newer series to this, because the can't compete with it.

I am a foreigner and when I first came to my country the first thing I watched was anime I learned my Language with watching anime. It wasnt Dragon Ball Z it was Digimon.
But after that I hated all Anime till I watched Dragon Ball Z, I first watched it with the age of 6 till now itÂ's the cause I started watching Anime. Even when I wanted ti sleep I thought about it and in my childhood memories itÂ's the best Anime ever made I just need to think about it and I remember the Power of Goku and that I should never give up No matter what. I still think that One day I will turn Super Saying No Matter what others say.

dragon ball z is the best because it has over 158 characters and it has the greatest storyline ever because at the end of dragon ball z, kid buu has enough deadly energy to push a super spirit bomb that is over 1, 200 feet. but then they gave goku power and once he pushed it back... it was finally over.

Dragon Ball Z is still unrivaled to this day. I don't know if Akiri Toriyama is still alive, but his imagination brought to life still embraces and excites young minds today. I pray to the Gods for a fresh start in the dragon ball series after GT starting with goku jr and vegeta jr. As it left off in GT. There's millions if not billions to be made by a new board of writers that are in touch with the original dragon ball and z mangas. New faces, new levels, stones unturned, the possibilities are endless. Goku may have become one with God, but remember that the Gods were created by Titans. Bring it back. Dragonball Beyond.

Best anime ever! It inspired me and made me want to be a mangaka and a animator if dragon ball z wasn't around naruto and bleach wouldn't be around. If people complain about it's fighting is to fast to see, slow it down. Akira toriyama drew every single movement of them 5 frames in every punch, kick, headbutt all of it is drawn. I never had any problem seeing them fight and I have watched all 291 episodes of it and personnally can't wait till the new dragonball z movie 2013!

Enthralling... Nothing can be compared to it... It started everything.. The anime world came into existence just because of this show.. I went to college and there were many anime followers and one question everyone asked me, "Have you watched Dragon Ball Z? "... Respects for Naruto, Bleach etc... But Dragon Ball Z is "THE ONE"... The way the story line goes is something that keeps you glued to this series, how each character develops his/her power levels... Amazing... Just one word... AMAZING..
