Barry Sanders
“If not the best ever, the most exciting”
“Detroit's first-round draft pick, 1989. . .Electrifying running style. . .First player to rush for 1,000 yards his first 10 seasons. . .Led NFL in rushing four times. . .NFL's MVP, 1997. . .Gained 2,053 yards including record 14 straight 100-yard games, 1997. . .Career rushing record: 15,269 yards, 99 TDs. . .First- or second-team All-NFL each of his 10 seasons. . .Selected to 10 Pro Bowls.”
“this guy was incredible! no doubt the most exciting!!”
“have you ever seen somebody go threw somebodys legs before ya fat chance”
“He was the king .. And of story”
“if you were coaching in a superbowl tomorrow and could choose any rb in history to play for you......uuuuuuuuuuuuu.....thats right, no doubt, barry!”
“now you see him, now you don't
”
“Barry Sanders is the best Running Back!”
“If you played defense and wanted to be a highlight on ESPN, playing against Sanders would get you your wish, unfortunately it was usually the defender looking like a complete fool tackling air!”
“he posted these amazing stats w/ a offensive line that was not exactly Hall of Fame material...in fact they were horrible! testament to Barry's unmatched skills”
“If he had the line Emmitt had and Emmitt had his line the numbers would be different.Barry would have like 20,000 yards while Emitt would have 7,000-9,000.”
“Barry is no doubt the greatest of all time!!”
“yeah emmit was good, but barry out matches him by a long shot. if barry would've played into his 30's like a normal player he would've easily gotten 20,0000 or more rushing yards!!!”
“Barry Sander...undisputed....Greatest”
“More slippery than a body builder. Broke more ankles than A.I. and Landanian tomlinson combined, and more elusive than dinosaur fossils. Ladies & gentleman Barry Sanders.”
“Without a doubt the best running back of all time....did it all with mostly a poor O line....and also did it with class and integrity....”
“" When god created Sanders, even he didn't know what he made. " - Matt Millen Sometimes you just gotta look up to the heaven's and say wow!”
“he and jim brown in my book are in my book a dead tie, I mean just look at sanders
only 10 years- over 15,000
Terrible team
No o-line
Retired at his prime, i figured it out if barry and emmitt both had the same number of attempts, by taking emmitt's first 3,000 some attempts, his total would only be around 12,300 and well barry's would be 15,000 +
”
“so beasty”
“Barry Sanders is the best!!!!!and always will be....L.T. is good but he will never be like Payton Or Sanders”
“the best hands down”
“Definitely tied as best ever with good old jim brown.... Thing is it only gonna last a good 3-5 years longer than LT is going to take that title away from both of them at the same time... By the way Reggie Bush better than any of the top ten guys listed,HAHAHA quit kiddin yourself. hes descent not great”
“Look at Barry's average yards gained per carry. He is at 5.0 which is close to Jim Brown's 5.2 which Jim earned against many defenders who were smaller than him. Considering the teams Barry played on his career stats are even more impressive. Every defense was geared directly toward Barry unlike what Emmitt had to deal with.”
“defenders would be going to tackle him and he wouldn't be there”
“Barry was bar-none the most electrifying running back ever to play the game. The way he juked, spun, and head-faked his way out of closing holes made you doubt everything Sir Issac Newton ever said about inertia. Were it not for the single-back setup Detriot employed throughout most of Sanders' career, he would probably own most, if not all, of the NFL's rushing records.”
“emmitt and barry will alway have the comparisons being probably the best backs of their generation. Barry had a lot less talent around him in detroit then emmitt in dallas. Watching barry run is like watching an artist paint a canvas. Watching him make his cuts, like watching a skilled dancer, a true artform. Guy was amazing and in my opinion best of all time.”
“Barry is hands down the best running back to ever play the game! If only he had more of a supporting cast, just imagine that! Put him on any team that had a great line and the sky would have been the limit!”
“probably the BEST ever no one can compare to this electrifying back”
“Barry Sanders was like Houdini when running the football. He would be in one spot with the defense coming at him, and all of a sudden he would be somewhere else running the ball. He could change direction and never lose a step or drop momentum. Very hard skills to find in todays players. The closest I've seen is my #2 pick Marshall Faulk, and Priest Holmes looked like he was heading in the direction. It's too bad we never got to see what he had for a full career.”
“There can be no one else other than Barry!!...come on, the guy retired even before he peaked!! And given that he achieved so much more than most other elite RB's have in their own total careers.”
“He was the fastest stud ever”
“First off, Im a huge Jim Brown fan, but my number 1 vote goes to Barry Sanders. With some of the worst offense the NFL has ever seen. Barry Sanders looked like a gazelle in a heard of elephants. Barry is and amazing player to watch. Thank you for the memories Barry.”
“Barry is the best running back ever but hard not to vote for sweetness
”
“Finally He gets the credit he deserves
”
“Had to work from scratch, he got no support from his team, greatest of all time...”
“Show me a good offensive line and I'll show you a good running back. Sanders didn't have this luxury and yet he still blew other RB's away!”
